  1. Yeah, many of these pictures were taken by the Resetttlement Dept.(?), and most before and around the Great Depression, so many people deep in poverty are pictured, but I thought this particular image was worth sharing. The Model A caught my eye, and the overall composition (not to mention the photographer's timing) are obvious. I try to share some which have a scale counterpart, and with Revell's '56 Del Ray easily available again, this one worked.
  2. I think it is from the JO-HAN Ford Maverick kit. The part box I found it in also had JO-HAN Ford Maverick wheels (both promo and kit), tail light bezel, etc. and after looking at one eBay listing, it appears the valve cover does has some type of script on top. Have to keep looking for a better image, though.
  3. White primer will never seal in the red color. Use a coat of silver paint (not primer) or a sealer (not a primer) as the first coat.
  4. Thanks Don. Nitto Buick Skyhawk front and rear body cap pic from this topic...looks like a match:
  5. They're back. ? Looks like someone using the official JOHAN (newest) logo from Covington, KY is selling genuine. N.O.S., leftover(?) JOHAN parts on ebay. Assuming this is Okey Spalding or someone related?: https://www.ebay.com/sch/pirate200867/m.html?item=224358455209&hash=item343cce57a9%3Ag%3AW8QAAOSwBS5gJuyl&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  6. *edit* Thanks to Erik, we now know this is the JO-HAN Ford Maverick (first issue) "Power by Ford" inline six valve cover:
  7. It appears the production model did get a pleated, cone style air filter:
  8. I think so, but not sure if the 1:1 cover was an OEM offering of an aftermarket full wheel cover. This vintage ad shows a few AMT-familiar wheel covers, and "G" looks a bit like the six-bar covers from the AMT '53 Ford pickup, so perhaps searching the web for Oldsmobile covers might turn up some better info: The below covers from the most recent issue are what you are asking about, correct?:

  10. Form back when one tail/brake light was enough.
  11. Gotta be the U.S. Marines version, I would think? As Mark mentioned earlier, I don't think Atlantic could/would release anything with a Revell-sponsored paint scheme...that would be super awkward. Chuck Boerne is supplying the 1/16 decals for Atlantis, correct? He's already done the U.S Marines Grand Am decals in 1/16, so that would make sense. That little Revell logo on the rear quarter panel could be edited out .
  12. Exactly this. Three negatives within the past 30 days? Walk away... Also a bad sign, stated in the description: "This will be shipped in a envelope no tracking if something happens please contact me" Just don't. Shipping a package via USPS First Class includes FREE tracking, which is automatically uploaded when the seller prints a shipping label. If they don't even use a padded mailer at a minimum (which is not even a good idea for anything other than a piece of paper), they don't care if your item arrives safely nor intact-- they're just looking to cheap out on shipping costs. Yes, boxes cost money, but they protect the contents well, and help guard against loss, package damage (i.e., sorting machines). A quality crush-proof shipping box costs $.30 or so, well worth the small investment. When the seller doesn't show the actual parts you will receive, but rather the master, kit parts, or shows the parts primed and/or painted (which can hide flaws), say no...: If all else fails, ask here first. I would have no trouble telling you to avoid that seller, and any other similar sellers with the same type of feedback, poor description, etc.
  13. Agreed. The tampo printing needs to be perfectly aligned/registered for them to pass the eye test, which was not quite the case with those in my kit. ?
  14. I didn't find any existing reviews of the 1/25 Revell Dodge Ram VTS Pickup concept truck, so here's a look at the contents of the 2012 "Trucks" reissue: https://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/1583/revell-dodge-ram-vts-pickup I wish Revell would've included more accurate wheels and tires, too, but they got close: I've always liked this kit and felt it was a shame Revell chose not to release additional variants. A stock 4x4 would've been welcome, and/or an extended cab version, too, but maybe the glut of pickup kits on the market at the time (and from Revell alone) meant there was only so much budgeted for the Dodge. I think this kit is worth picking up if you like this bodystyle, as I think Revell captured the overall look very well. You're mostly on your own if you use this kit as a starting point, but there was a 4x4 conversion set available from Perry's Resin long ago, so keep your eyes peeled on eBay or at shows.
  15. Code Brown, rows one through three in Section 55. ? ? Whoever thought sitting people that close to racecars, indoors, was a good idea? ?‍♂️
  16. Should make a good parts donor. ?
  17. Here's the original(?) Revell box, but I'm not sure if the Mooneyes Dragster was ever released as a kit on its own or not: I'm sure Atlantis will release images of the new box art once it's ready, as well as some built up/test shot images. They are very adept at keeping their potential customers in the loop and up to date regarding future releases.
