  1. Very cool, Gary - looks great! Takes a lot of patience to do this work.
  2. Looks awesome, Lee! Going to have to take some pointers from you on outdoors photo shoots - adds so much. Looks like truck is parked on a real gravel road.
  3. Thanks, Jeff - its been a fun go so far! I've seen lots of builds in this forum with resin printed parts used and how much they can add, but it kind of hit home stronger once I was able to see one of my parts printed - looking forward to getting it assembled and in place in the cab.
  4. I had to go back and look at what you weren't satisfied with about the bumper. It definitely looks better after your modifications!
  5. Great job, Jürgen! Always a treat to see one of your designs come to life. Look forward to the trailer build.
  6. Thanks very much, Lee - appreciate it. Wanted to show everyone Bren’s final print of the modified file - think it turned out the best! (parts will soon be on their way to me by courier) Have to add the boots and fab some very small hydraulic levers, and make the mast that the monitor is attached to, then try and paint this little gem without messing it up!
  7. Hey Gary, I remember when you were assembling parts for this build, you said you couldn't find a front air suspension. Maybe you could use the right size rubber o-rings for air bags and plastic tube for an air tank, to simulate something like a Hendrickson front air ride system -
  8. Great colour for this build!
  9. Awesome job, Jeff, and I’m glad you were able to to settle that cab in place! I going have to take more than one visit here to catch all the details you’ve added - overall first impression is,well, impressive! I really like the subtle weathering on your cab and well worn look of your engine and frame. Excellent work - you’ll have to post a group photo with this addition!
  10. That’s going to dramatically change the look of your truck - looking forward to seeing how it’s set up!
  11. Congrats on getting it finished - looks way too good to have been put back in a box!
  12. Lots of extras for this build - certainly getting an idea of your vision from your engine detailing and general mockups! Going to be awesome - what competition are you getting ready for, if you don't mind me asking?
  13. Really well done interior - hoping to find some of that wire you used for the phone cord!
  14. Wow, Jürgen! Like Jeff said a few posts back - stayed away for a bit and came back to major changes. Same here - last I checked you were doing decals, now you’ve redone the front end. Well done!
  15. Thanks, Guys - going to have to use courier to get the printed parts delivered - still no end in sight for postal strike. Would be nice to do a ‘mini’ mockup of console in the cab interior, to check the size out. Need to get back on those tanks straps and get them finished!
  16. Terrific job on the D7, Charles. I like the dirt from the boots of the operator on the floor of the operating platform - all your weathering looks good, but that especially caught my eye.
  17. Looks really good, Jürgen - you must be pleased with your progress!
  18. About a month ago, had designed the interior cab hydraulic control console/monitor in Sketchup. While searching for a way to get the file printed, Bren graciously offered to print the parts for me. After getting Bren the original files, and a couple file modifications, and some test prints later, Bren sent me these pics of his results. I'm new to this but, wow! Was really surprised at the detail that is present in such a small space. Many thanks to Bren for doing this - some modifications to come yet, but very, very satisfied with results! These are two of the file screen shots and their dimensions - Control console without the rubber boots or the hydraulic control levers monitor - Trial print of console - and monitor 'rubber' boots for hydraulic control levers Bren also printed some copies of a hydraulic pump I made for the truck - 5/16" long Again, many thanks to Bren!
  19. This tailgate opening mechanism is ingenious - be watching how you replicate it.
  20. Thanks, Jürgen - been having lots of fun with this build along the way. Sure like how your tanker, and soon to be tank trailer are coming along!
  21. You’re not afraid of work, that’s for sure - should look better!
  22. A beautiful truck in real life and you’ve represented it very well in your build.
  23. Thanks, Jeff, hope you can use the measurements and be good to have the decals - would get that part finished off as well
  24. Been stalled again - stretch of cold, wet weather (heater in shed isn't keeping the humidity in a good enough place to paint), still no decals with postal strike on, and a bit stuck on how to proceed with a few details. Getting the details worked out, but still doing some trial and error fabrication on the side to be sure. For something a little different while on pause, thought I would share an interesting (to me, anyway) 'exploded' view of my sander model in Sketchup, as well as profile pattern with measurements. Not yet into resin printing, this 1/24, 3D model let me make profile patterns for almost every piece in the exploded view which were then cut out of appropriate styrene sheet stock. Like I said, might only be interesting to me, but has been a huge help to visualize what I needed to do! Lots of pieces to cut out and assemble along the way - The measurements are mostly because Sketchup has a feature to let me do this - I used actual paper printouts of panels, etc to cut out the sheet plastic More to come soon, I'm hoping!
