That’s a hell of a finish on your 1:1 - lots of care went into polishing that out! -

This is going to be quite the car! Enjoy watching it evolve from 3D concept to printed reality -
Thanks, DJ, I’ll try STS as well

Yes, I have some specifically for laser printers

The other thing I was thinking of trying was taking my decal file on a memory stick to a local stationery store (Staples, here in Vancouver) and printing the file on decal paper using one of their colour laser printers. That might work and you only have to pay for the number of copies you make.

Thanks for the suggestions, Peter - I will have to try other printer settings. The decal paper I'm using is 'Experts Choice", white decal film, specifically for inkjet printers. I'll keep trying and if not successful, I'll seek out info about custom decals.

I'm having a go at making some manufacturer brand name and safety decals for my plow truck. I have an HP inkjet printer that doesn't have a 'true black' setting and about the only other thing I can adjust is the setting for max DPI. I've also set the paper type to glossy paper (and have a few more settings like that I can still try). Test prints on white decal paper leaves the black spotty. The safety decals are about 1/2" wide. Any suggestions for getting a 'blacker' black? Are there companies that will make custom decals like these? Thanks for any suggestions. spotty black is most evident on bottom two rows - the caution decals are 1/2" and 5/8" wide.

Looking good, Jeff - what brand/type of chrome tape are you using? -
The real metal parts in your builds are fantastic - so much realism in a small package! What do you use to bond the aluminum and brass pieces together?

Maybe something like this? This was on a 1930, half hood set up, but could put pins on all four underside corners of hood to go into recesses in firewall and rad shroud? -

Thanks, Gary - I find painting to be a "high tension" aspect of building, so it goes slowly. -

I wouldn't be doing that, Jeff! Don't know about the builder part - I wouldn't even consider trying to weather a truck and you seem to have that down pretty good. -

Going to be a great addition to your fleet! What color are you thinking for this truck? -
Ditto on the working lights and the engine compartment - very impressive how you manage to hide the wiring and the battery - great work!

Brief update - been repainting the sander the past several days. First couple coats were light but found it difficult to get paint into all the crevices and angles on the sander body - some corners still lighter than flat areas because air just blows paint out of the inside corners and angles. On third coat, started with these lighter areas and lower volume of paint and it seemed to cover these areas better, then finished the third coat with a wetter application than the previous two. After taking a few pictures, I could still seem some uneven coverage, so, after sanding out a couple bits of fuzz, one final coat to go. Some light areas still on the lower, rear frame - I know it's a sander body, but they come from the manufacturer with almost as crisp a paint job as a new car, so still a ways to go yet license plate bracket area on left fender is a little light as well you can better see the "stitch" welded areas on the hopper body support brackets - used the Revell glue applicator, with the thin metal nozzle, like a caulking gun. Slow but sure, getting there. Lots to do yet - appreciate you looking in! -

Super clean build, Karl - will look awesome all put together! Curious how you made your bed rails (you mentioned some tooling you made?) -
Super detailing, Scott, right down to the crisp looking shift gate pattern!
