  1. I happened on the Tamiya site and saw their 1:24 scale slot car m body parts set for $5.00! I wasn't even sure what the "M" body represented, but I ordered four on the spot https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/124-sports-car-accesories/slot-car-m-body-parts-set/ A little bit of digging later, and it turns out Tamiya was calling these slot bodies by code letters - probably to avoid paying for the names. The codes would seem to refer to the following: #25116 "F" body is the Ferrari 330P2 #25117 "L" body is the Lotus 40 #25118 "K" body is referred to as the Shelby "King Cobra", but is in fact its cousin the DeTomaso P70 designed by Peter Brock (albeit with rear wheels exposed ala the DeTomaso 5000 Sport). #25119 appears to be unrelated to slot car bodies. #25120 "LO" body is the Lotus 30 #25121 "LT" body is the Lola T70 #25122 is the McLaren Elva which I purchased #25123 "P" body is the Porsche 906
  2. Great paint schemes all around Ismael, and the interior details really added a lot to their good looks. Well done as always!
  3. I think it looks great in gold, and the body mods are very tastefully done. Thank you for posting!
  4. Oh Hanjo, that is beautiful enough to make a grown man cry. It's always wonderful to see a scale model look almost as good as its 1:1 counterpart, but in your case - it looks better!
  5. Absolutely beautiful job! The little touches add so much, such as factory markings. overspray on the underside, etc. I particularly love the clear driveshaft, which I think was an option back then
  6. Great build so far Dennis, and thank you for all the information on the drivetrain. I love the stance, but am conflicted as both sets of rims are awesome in their own right. I think you should build both!
  7. Totally digging this build! Puts me in the mood to build my CRX and put "something written in Japanese" on the sides
  8. Just WOW, WOW, WOW! That black paint job is stunning, the BMF is exquisite, and the detailing is incredible. If it looks this good in blown up photos, it has to be awesome in person. You have got to have 200 hours into this build
  9. Fantastic job Anthony! I love the colors and interior in particular. Thank you for posting.
  10. Great job on a great car Phillip! Isn't it interesting how the upper windshield tint adds so much to the look of a car in scale?
  11. Total beauty Bill, and great photos!
  12. Very tastefully done Dan. Great job! Did the kit come with opening doors, or was that more of your magic?
  13. Such cool history! I looked these up, and the markings are very interesting, as are the stories behind them
  14. Fantastic build Ville. I especially love the "Mako Shark" vibe to your paint job!
  15. Totally digging it!
  16. Very nice looking David! And as the James Shefter's book title says, "All Corvettes are Red". (Good book BTW, especially about the development of the C5)
  17. Wonderful build Michelle, and great bit of history. I remember when this generation F body came out in 1982, and I was totally in love with it. I didn't even know about the concept car though.

    Ice-T reboot

Totally digging it Steve. Well done as always! I particularly like your rear end treatment, and might have to crib it for my future build.

    Drift Miata

Just awesome Steve! Like you, I've been many a model with my son (including a replica of his 3000GT), and they automatically become treasured memories.
  20. Absolute beauty. I would love driving this on the open road!
  21. Dan, great car and awesome makings of a diorama replicating your garage!
  22. Sorry about the dupe post. This website and I are having technical difficulties...
  23. I had a few cars I've replicated in scale in one form or another. Case in point is my 1992 Dodge Stealth RT that I thoroughly loved and put a hundred thousand miles on. The only reason I sold it was because the northeast winters and salt took a toll. When I did up a model of it back ten years or more ago, I couldn't find a suitable kit, so I got a dealer promo in 1:25th scale and modified it. A second car was my 1984 Pontiac Trans Am. The closest I came at the time was a 1:25 scale model of a 1985 Trans Am by Monogram. I got everything close, but the rims and rear wing weren't quite the same. A third car was my 1998 Pontiac Firebird. It was generally replicated in 1:25th scale starting with a dealer promo. And finally, my son and I rebuilt a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT for him when he was in high school. I started with a 1:20 scale Lindberg, and had Enkei RPF1 rims 3D printed in matching scale.
