  1. Thanks Jeff, don’t think I would build another box, way more challenging than I thought, one will be enough.
  2. The video I watched suggested application over a primer finish was acceptable. In the past I have added a couple rivets over primer, after they dried (water application) I then applied primer over them , then painted. They are still on the truck. I think best application is to bare plastic then apply Micro Sol. I am going to do a test plaque with a row of rivets to verify they will stick to my primer.
  3. Outstanding fabrication work, its a gonna look good.
  4. Thank you Jeff Robinson (Biggu ). Been bouncing this idea of him and listening to his thoughts. Thanks buddy.
  5. Next project up on the bench. Never done a Resto rod truck conversion, so my version is as follows, subject to change. Late model turbo engine and transmission, air ride suspension front and back, custom tanks with wide straps, new battery boxes (Kenworth style), dual stacks, stretched frame, sleeper, custom visor, custom headache rack with tool boxes, update to dual headlights (similar to Peterbilt 359) , ten hole wheels with floats, maybe rear fenders, and….and…… The idea is a updated heavy hauler (the bosses truck) now to order some parts.
  6. Progress, getting close to applying rivets. Now I can trim the frame to length and finish frame.
  7. Sweet, I like the GMC General, good looking truck.
  8. Those tanks really look good with the weld detail
  9. Thanks guys, will add more detail later, chains, grab handle and stuff. Looked up specs for a load ramp, base on the ground to deck height, it suggested a 14 ft ramp. Didn’t know there a specs for ramps.
  10. That looks really, going with a fifth wheel on this ? Rear fenders might look good on this build.
  11. Wow, that is a nice detail, eager to see paint on the tanks to see how that detail shows up.
  12. Progress, getting primer on the box and sanding, over and over and repeat. Got the loading ramp fabricated, now to build the storage for the ramp.
  13. Nice detail, looking good, I like the light weathering
  14. Wow, these little parts are a pain with my old fat fingers. I think everything is made for the back doors, if I am missing something please speak up. Now I can attach the rear door panel to the box and start finishing the box. didn’t loose any tiny bolts this time?, only made the door latches three times trying to get the correct size.
  15. Love the look of your engine, I need to duplicate that for my GMC build. Well done
  16. Looking really good, I am like Steve afraid to mess up a good build. I always like to display a well kept truck that shows the miles. But I do have to learn the weathering detail.
  17. Thanks Jeff, agree on the beer thanks Steve, trying to reach your build standard??, you guys just keep raising the bar. I’m just trying to keep up and stealing ideas from you guys.
  18. Need to make the latches top and bottom for each door, next. will not glue latch assembly on doors until after paint, doors will be painted white with an aluminum color around the perimeter of each door, latch will be painted aluminum then attached. I should be able to slide the decal under the latch for the beer logo.
