Place it on the table and back away slowly.

I love how low and clean this looks with the flat paint. Nice rod.
-
This is going to be cool. I might need to get one just for that engine.

29 Ford: Race of Gentlemen presents... California Drag Racing 2023
Calb56 replied to Calb56's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Trying to decide about using the finned drums from the 29 Roadster kit. Using the rear tires and steelies from it. Will also need a master cylinder...? Maybe use a 36 Ford rearend? It would be easier having more mechanical knowledge. Using Forward Resins Artillery Wheels and tires up front. Comments, etc welcome. -
Agreed. Those wheels are perfect. I love them.

Shrek was fine but I think one of Eddie Murphy's best performances in a couple of decades was Donkey.

29 Ford: Race of Gentlemen presents... California Drag Racing 2023
Calb56 replied to Calb56's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I appreciate the comments, not only is this my first attempt at weathering, it's my first build since returning to models last August. I'm hoping to achieve a 90+ year old car put together to drive and the drags on a budget and to get the proper patina and not to end up in exaggerated rust. My 1st attempt on the trunk turned out better, I screwed it up trying to "fix" it, so purple pond. The firewall was a disaster at trying to be model correct, so I'm going with period correct for a hot rod find and an unknown firewall. That was easy. I used a black wash, which I watered down and applied with a really wet brush. I then dabbed with a paper towel and allowed to dry. I think it left a good effect. -

29 Ford roadster in the "4 cylinder auto" class. I'm using the Revell 29 Ford Roadster body and the chassis, engine and almost all of the suspension is coming from the old Revell 31 Woody kit. It's a start... -
Months from now I might build my own big boat in the driveway, annoying the neighbors and hoarding animals by the pair.

Hopefully I can just stay standing at some point soon.

"Back in Black" was the first album by AC/DC with Brian Johnson their new singer; that seems like just a few years ago but it isn't.

Dead on with the Cragars and graphics...this'll be cool. -
Discussion which starts with "We need to talk..." rarely has a positive resolution.

Mexico is probably glad they don't own California or Texas anymore.

Temperature, if high enough can lead to hallucinations and other fun.

Very cool, you must've been really happy in your 20s with that... Nice build too.
