  1. Nice build. I'll be following this one. If you get a chance check out my WIP 37 Ford Panel. ??
  2. I cut open the firewall and sunk it back a little. It just needs some putty work on the gaps now. I made up a single forward engine mount and built it up until it all lined up. So that's the engineering finished. Next will be the wheels. Cheers,David.??
  3. I got the engine to fit with a few modifications. I shortened the bell housing and cut off the end shaft of the gearbox. I also removed the shaft between the blower and the air scoop and replaced the straight pipe headers with regular performance headers.
  4. G'day Alan, cool build. To transform stock to hotrod is always fun. I'm currently building the 37 ford panel delivery by revell as a street rod. It's posting on WIP Commercial vehicles. I'm in Albury, NSW. Have you heard of a model parts supplier called 'The Parts Box '. They have some good stuff including a nine inch. Again, cool hotrod. Cheers, David.
  5. OK. Thanks Alex, I'll give it a go.
  6. FYI, The model in the first photo is not mine. I would hate to breach copyright. ?
  7. Progressing on to engine placement now. I'm hoping to use the Micky Thompson built 'attempt 1' Pontiac Tempest 4 cylinder supercharged engine which I had pre built years ago. It will take a bit of work to make it fit. Wish me luck guys. ??
  8. Welcome Matt. Nice detail in your builds.
  9. Thanks David, it steers fine as long as you don't want to turn left or right. ??
  10. I like the rusty look Alex. I want to try that myself. What's the process?
  11. Rear axle mounted with a bit of placement issues. But hey, that's what we do to get it right. ?? ps. I still need to attach the shocks.
  12. Nice build James. I recently used a similar colour on my 74 Roadrunner. I'll send some photos of my 53 pickup. It's from the old 80s street machine kit with the tilt front hood. I rebuilt it twice. From the box this kit was low in the front so I only had to drop the rear. I'm looking forward to seeing your next build. Cheers, David. ??
  13. Thanks rusty.
  14. Thanks John.
  15. Thanks Lei, yeah, you would have liked it. I lived in Vancouver BC for a year with my family when I was 14 yo. That's when my love for American iron started. ??
  16. Thanks Gerald.
  17. Thanks guys, this is my first WIP post on this forum. I'll be making regular step by step post's as this build progresses. Again, thanks for watching. Cheers, David.
  18. Hi James, try using styrene sheet to build up some lowering blocks for the rear and for the front you can channel slots into the chassis rails and the I beam axle. Or you can get resin lowered I beams. In Australia there is a website that caters to modellers called The Parts Box. They have a front axle. I hope this helps you. Cheers,David.
  19. This is the stance I'm going for.
  20. Sorry Alex, slight brain malfunction. Of course it would work.
  21. Looking good so far. Wheels will suit this build. Love that exhaust tip although you wouldn't want it with bagged suspension.
  22. For the rear l have also removed the original cross member and am fabricating my own set up with lengths of sprue. I'll be using the rear axle, springs and shocks pictured.
  23. IFS installed with dropped spindles.
  24. Original cross member is removed.
  25. I have started fabricating the front suspension set up by swapping out the stock I beam with independent front suspension. To get the stance I want I've mocked up some crude spindles which will be hidden by the wheels. Here you can see the piece's of the original cross member cut from the chassis
