MPC's old NitroVette Corvette funny car kit, from the early 80's, that I've had in my stash since... well.... the early 80's..... This build happened because I was given the "Boogieman" decals, by someone on another message board, last year, with the stipulation that I had to actually build something using them.... After a quick look through my kits, I settled on the long ignored Vette flopper.... Built pretty much straight from the box.... Paint is a quick n dirty two tone rattle can fog job, using is Testors One Coat lacquers. Honestly, I am not that happy with this one, but I'm calling it done..... For now!

Thanks, Claude.... Definitely looks like we were on the page.... I just wish I was capable of achieving the level of finish that your builds always exhibit! -
This build dates back to the late 1990's ... as may be made obvious the paint style and colors. JoHan '62 Chrysler 300 with much of the trim shaved off... Paint is Testor's MM enamels, though the exact shades now escape me. Wheels and tires from Revell's Dodge Copperhead concept car kit. Here is where the 300 "V" designation comes from... Viper V-10 from Revell's snapper.... Paint scheme is carried over into the engine compartment.

I had fond memories of building MPC's T Trike, as a teen, back in the mid-1970's, so when it was finally reissued as the Milk Trike a few years back, I decided I had to take another crack at it..... Built pretty much box stock, with the exception of AMT Parts Pack slicks, Parts by Parks injector tubes, and a Preston's pre-wired magneto.

Built this one several years ago. I started by opening up the wheel openings on Revell's Miss Deal funny cay body and mounting it to the chassis and running gear from MPC's Rat Trap Vega dirt modified kit... Body was painted Minneapolis Moline yellow, with the chassis being finished with Testors gloss red enamel... Numbers and sponsor marking were sourced from several Slixx decal sheets. Unfortunately this model was destroyed shortly after completion.... (I was getting ready to put it back in the display case after a show, when I tripped over the cat and fell on the model, essentially crushing it) Maybe someday I'll build another.

Now that is awesome!!! I have something similar in the works, using the side by side twin SBC's from the D.D. kit.

Neat little conversion... I enjoy checking out eBay listings of such cars.

Aardvark has a VW fuel altered body? I used one of his "Bug Zapper" bodies to build a "what if" contemporary DuraChrome Bug.... But that's a story for another day.

Looks great!!!!!

An old build, from around 1983 or '84.... Inspired by an article in SAE, I kitbashed U.S. Airfix's Type K wagon, with Monogram's '81 Turbo Trans Am street Machine kit..... It's showing it's age, but I thought it might be fun to share one of my first "serious" builds... Fender scoops from MPC '69 Trans Am were grafted in... I don't recall the sources for the wheels and tires, or the exhaust side pipes.... Difficult to see, but I installed the IRS from a Corvette. Again, even though you can't see it, this was probably the most detail I ever added to a model, with wires, cables, vacuum lines and linkages added. Red velour interior, made using various widths of velveteen ribbon... A bit heavy handed by today's standards, but it was pretty cool back in 1983! Paint is, as I recall, Dupicolor. Hood decal is from the Turbo T/A pace car kit .... There were side view mirrors, but they have gone missing after several moves. I would really like to find another one of these kits someday, and maybe build it with my current skill set.

Just a simple mash-up of Mongram's Slingster dragster, and a resin '27 T roadster body, from an unknown caster, with a few parts box bits thrown in for good measure.......

VERY nice!!!! I really need to revisit that kit... The last time that I built it was the mid-1970's.... Boy am I getting old!!!!

Very nice!!!!! I have built the '83 and '84 Thunderbirds, and the EXP is on my "someday" list.

Another beauty, Claude!!! So much clever ingenuity going on, that I could spend hours studying these pics... I love it!!!!!
