  1. Here's a real quick slammer style "what if" that I threw together when the AMT Camaro kit first came out....... Cheap dollar store enamel paint, Competition Resins hood scoop, Fred Cady decals, Steve Milberry wheels up front on Revell tires and "Creepy T" wheels out back on Satco slicks No interior, no chassis, no drive train.....Just Fun!!!!!
  2. Perfect!!!!! Color, stance, finish...... I really dig everything about this car!!!!!
  3. Here's one that's been together for a decade or so years........ JoHan's old '62 300 kit was shaved, smoothed, coated in Testors "50s Aqua and Metallic Black and slammed to the ground on AMT Chrysler Concept (Copperhead) wheels and tires. Oh yeah.... And the reason for the "V" in 300V..... As always, your questions, comments and concerns are welcomed!
  4. NICE!!!! You've gotta finish that puppy!!!!!! BTW.... "Mommy Mobile"??? I like that!!!!!!! LOL
  5. Somtimes I just want to build something that is simple yet unique.... That's when I start lookin' at my stash of promos. Promo models from the 80s and 90s (even a few from the mid and late 70s) are cheap and plentiful and can be a real hoot to play around with! Here's a couple of examples..... I started with this..... And wound up with this..... This '88 Taurus was inspired by a co-worker's son's everyday high school cruiser... It was lowered and wears a set of 20" wheels by Hoppin' Hydros... Paint is Duplicolor automotive touch up lacquer. Here's another..... I started with this..... And this is the final result....... Once again, this Geo Stormwas lowered... Wheels, tires and rotors are from some forgotten source.... Revells' PT Cruiser perhaps? Paint is Tamiya Candy Lime Green over Tamiya Gold Leaf. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, but I sure have fun building stuff like this!
  6. VERY NICE!!!!! I built an AWB Nomad a couple of years, but it didn't turn nearly as nice as that one.... I'm REALLY diggin' it!!!!
  7. Cool concept!!! I'd really like to see more pics of it taken in better lighting too please! Did you scatchbuild the front airdam??? I really like the looks of it! Also... Is that the stock hood in the backgroud and if so, does ot fit? Would look really good with a cowl induction style hood, IMHO.
  8. WOW!!!! That is truly gorgeous Bob!!!!!
  9. Thanks for all the compliments guys!!! This car, the "Telstar" Challenger that I posted a few days ago, the "Chi-Town Hustler" Charger, The "Ramchargers" Dart and Beswick's "Boss Bird are all cars that impressed me to such a great degree back in the day, that building models of them all has been a real goal of mine for most of my life.... Slowly but surely I'm gettin' there!!!! BTW, Andy...... I picked up one of your "Bug Zapper" VW F/C kit and I'm planning on using it to build a "what if" version of the DuraChrome Bug!
  10. This is my favorite model that I have ever built.... I fell in love with the real car when I was a kid of about 8 or 9 and had wanted to build a model of it from that time I started construction on this some time around 1989 and worked on it from time to time until I finally finished it last February. Please note that this is not a resin body (none were available when I started this project).... I made it by modifying a Revell VW. The chassis was made from two AMT Gremlin funny car chassis and all together, parts from more than 20 kits were used by the time I was finished with it. Paint is DupliColor rattle can and decals were made by Billy Gooche.... Hope you like it!
  11. Oh Yeah..... I really like that!!!!!! Those red scallops look fantastic on a black car!
  12. Very nice!!!!! Welcome.... And I have to agree with you about the MK Challenger being a fun build! I have built one already and have plans to do several more in the near future.... Looking foward to seeing more from you!
  13. Thanks! The body was simply clear coated using Future acrylic floor polish, applied with a foam brush, after decaling. I contacted Keven a Whoopie Kat before decaling and he assured me that his decals are compatable with most any clear coat..... I'd still be a little cautious about using any hot lacquers though!
  14. Here's a little something that I built just for giggles.... Revell's Porsche Boxster snap kit, lowered, shaved and wearing the wheels and tires from Revell's '63 Vette roadster snapper... Paint is HoK "Cinnamon Pearl" from Black Gold.
  15. Very nice!!!!!! Gonna have to get one of those MCW fastback bodies for myself, one of these days!!!!
  16. I started this one on New Year's Eve as part of a club challenge to start something new for the new year..... Resin '60 F100 cab, that a friend of mine cast many years ago, combined with the chassis, box and rear fenders from AMT's '53 F100 and the straight axle from an "old tool" Revell '57 Chevy thrown in to get that "nose high" stance..... Engine will be a Revell Parts Pack based Ford 427 FE with injectors and headers from the parts box.
  17. Here's a look at my latest build........ Using the newly released Challenger F/C from the Model King, the body was painted with Tamyiya "Pearl White" and was then fogged using Sally Hansen "Hard as Nails" #23 "Marine Scene" nail polish. Decals are by "Whoopie Kat" and are, in a word, FANTASTIC! They are very thin and quite easy to work with. (It should be noted that the decals were made to fit the JoHan Challenger F/C kit, so the side graghics don't quite fit the Model King body just right.... Still, they do look great on the finished car, IMHO!) Overall this was a fun build of a somewhat obscure car that I didn't think I'd ever have the opportunity to build model of.
  18. Hi All..... I just thought that I'd introduce myself. My name is Marty Neyrinck, but I'll be stopping in here from time to time as Nitro Marty..... Some of you may already know me, as I am a regular over on a couple of the other forums. I like to build many different types of vehicle from street rods and customs, to pickups and tuners..... But my real passion is vintage drag cars!!!!! Anyway, I'm looking forward to spending a little time here and making new friends!
