  1. I see your Soap on a Rope, and raise you a Peach coloured track suit. A gift I got back in the 80's from my late mother in law. This thing went into the Goodwill bin on the way home from christmas dinner at their home.
  2. Cats were a delicasy on Alfs planet, that's why he wanted to eat it. Married with childen did have some great lines. Bud : Kelly, spell " Off " ( he's burnt looking and smoke is rising from his head ) Kelly looking sheepish and turning away ) O... something.
  3. I wish that Round2 would reissue some of the Indy car kits from the 70's and the Can Am kits as well.
  4. I can remember Pactra enamels priced at 11 cents per bottle back in 1965.
  5. MY Pescarolo Judd 01 came yesterday.
  6. I built in my bedroom. My dad put a cork work surface on top of my desk and I built my models there. but I spray painted in the garage outside. If I painted in the house, my mom would have killed me.
  7. 4,248 He who dies with the most toys wins.
  8. When I was younger and growing up in the 60's, you could buy model kits at the 5 & dime ( Woolworth's, Steadmans, Kredskis ) and at the grocery store that my mother worked at which was Loblaws. You could also get them at other grocery stores as well. The big department stores like Eaton's and Simpsons and Sears carried them in the toy dept. But my favorite place to buy models was my local hobby shop that was run by a old couple who were friends of my dad.
  9. Racecars !!! Resin Indycars from the 30's to modern day endurence cars. Plastic , resin , white metal, all scales.
  10. I sometimes use a hair drier to bend styrene rod. I also use the hot water trick. Both work good on thin rod, the hair drier is best for thicker rods.
  11. In 1/43 scale, Yes. In 1/24 - 1/25, hard to say. You might see a resin caster try to do this car, if they do I'd be in for one.
  12. Their in the first half hour on Speed. Audi's are 1, 2, 3 with the Toyota Hybrids a respectable 4 & 5.
  13. I have never had any problem's with the plastic that Revell uses. But then I warm up the body and parts in my dehydrator first before primer. I also wash all parts in warm soapy water and let them air dry overnight before priming with white Duplicolour primer.
  14. Thanks for the support guy's. Not alot of employers wanting to hire people over the age of 50 these days. I'm willing to take any kind of job, but once they see my resume I get the " your over qualified for this job" line. But I still keep looking.
  15. I have this kit as well. Bought it in the early 80's and was Gung - Ho about starting it untill I took a really long and hard look at it. She went right back in the box and was put in the back of the closet for later. Every year or so I take it out, have a look at it again and box it up and back in the closet. You have started on a long and hard row to hoe with this one my friend. But you seem to have it under control. Keep us posted with your updates.
  16. I'm still waiting for my Corvette C5R upgrade set. Been almost 5 years.
  17. Yes the first Split was in 1979 between USAC and CART. The second Split was between Tony George and CART when Tony thought he could put on a better show then CART could. But as we later found out, all he was good at was pi**ing away his familys money.
  18. That might be true, but there are others here that follow ALMS and other endurence racing series as well as Vintage, Trans-Am, Moto GP and F1. Indy isn't what it use to be since the split in 96.
  19. I'm interested in one if your doing it. What's all included in the kit ?
  20. The first one I'd build is this Ron Fellows MacKenzie Trans AM Merkur. The second one would be the black Budget car, also a T/A car but with the second rear wing.
  21. I'm in for two !!!!!!
