  1. Welcome, Tom! I use Elmer's white glue for clear parts, Tenax 7R for main building, sometimes Testor's tube glue if I want to be able to manipulate the parts a bit before they dry. Primer I use whatever is on sale, and choose either white, grey or red depending on what the end colour will be. Enjoy the forum, there's tons of info to dig through. The search function is great for finding stuff, and if you can't find it, just ask your question, and it gets answered in a hurry! Take care!
  2. Sure! I don't think I've seen any of your model builds or photo work I didn't like!
  3. Maybe I need to print two, one for my computer room, and one for the work bench...hmm...especially since it is a great looking Ford! Thanks, Jerry! Much appreciated, bro! You do nice work, and take nice pictures.
  4. Thank you for indulging my curiosity, Romell! Very much appreciated. Stunning car, my man, simply stunning.
  5. Just one, huh? Tough call...Well, I recently finished this one, and it was the longest to finish, as I boxed it away for a long time due to some issues. I started it in late 1991 or early 1992, as close as I can guess (kit was released in 1991, and I used reference pics from Motor Trend, April 1991), and finished it at the end of June this year...Revell 1969 Baldwin Motion Camaro. Lots of firsts here - valve stems, engine plug wires, fuel lines, heater hoses, sanded the back of the grille to open it up and foil casting of 3 'SS' emblems. Nice kit, few issues, and I wrecked a body and had to buy another kit to start over on the paint. Anyways...not my absolute favourite, but the one I put the most into over a long period of time, including learning a few techniques. Here it is: More pics here if you care to look,
  6. I don't feel so bad now! Thanks guys! I only have about 100 unbuilt + or - 10 or so... I've been building for about 42 years (I'm 47). My wife says I have too many too, but she understands, as she has a stash of wool for her hobby!
  7. I have used Krylon sprays quite a bit lately - picked some up for $4 a can. Recently, I've used yellow, Pumpkin Orange, Burgundy, Gloss White and semi-gloss black. I agree about the crazing with the semi gloss black, as I had some minor crazing, and after sanding smooth up to 2000 grit, a second coat was fine. Everything else I've used has been great, and have used over different primers with no problems. I like the 360 degree nozzle, too!

    '89 SHO

The front ride height was how the kit was originally made. Later versions I believe had lower ride height (the Robocop II release for example). You did a nice job on that. Seems that kit was available forever, and no one built it! (I built 2 actually - 1 RC2, and 1 SHO-I think I have 1 of each left in the stash!)
  9. Oh, and if I may make a request please - I'd love to see pictures of it all buttoned up if you get a chance...doors closed, hood on, ready to cruise.
  10. My hat is off to you, Mr. Robinson! Most fantastic build of EPIC proportions. A suggestion for the display might be to put that floor jack in from the front - even lift, say on a front cross-member and no chance of the driver's door being opened onto the handle, or being knocked while putting the tire back on. For safety, it really should be on jack stands, and have wheel chocks. Just a thought I had to add to the mini dio! Really like the mirror, as it helps to show off that chassis. I, too, can't wait for the next build from your workbench!
  11. Very nice progress on this! Looks great in white/yellow!
  12. Glue bomb garage sale find rebuild as a cheap Saturday Night racer...I hope it's cool enough...
  13. Most important? I build as a hobby, for me first. I try to learn something with each build as a personal development exercise for me. I try to do something that will stretch my abilities. Sometimes, it might be something quick and easy to get something finished and on my shelf. I also try not to take myself too seriously, or the hobby. I am also trying not to start more projects before clearing up some of the backlog on the workbench-which I personally find difficult due to the ideas that come into my head, or the inspiration that drives me to start another project. So, in conclusion, for me, the most important thing is keeping it all about me!
  14. Drew - Nice photo of the truck cab. I like the avatar too. I've got a soft spot for VWs...
  15. Wow, nice weathering there...I think I did hear the rust!!
  16. I used sheets of plastic (shower tub wall) that a friend gave me (never used in a tub!). Was great for basic stock. Glued some printed cement blocks on, and I use it as a photo back stop for my models. I have work to do on the interior still, which is great cause you can do a bit at a time as the feeling strikes. You can check my PhotoBucket album-link on my sig if you'd like ( there are build shots there too of my garage dio in the Speed Shop album).
  17. Welcome to the forum! You've got some nice builds there!
  18. Doug - Nice build. That's when cars had style! Perfect colour choice, too.
  19. Nice build! Great colour!
  20. 640 Replies 27,500 Views The numbers on this thread...also EPIC!!
  21. Didn't get on here for a few days, and the Chevelle is done. Good on ya, Romell, this is an EPIC build. Will look forward to the reveal "Under Glass". Sure hope you didn't over-torque those lug nuts...you have a scale torque wrench in your bag o' magic tricks??
  22. Very interesting subject! The VW "Wedding" cars are pretty unique. Great subject, and great execution. Nice work so far!
  23. I live in Canada, and I find anything mailed to me from the US by regular mail, is 2 to 3 weeks. There are exceptions, earlier and later. Shortest was 3 days, longest was 5 weeks. May depend on where it gets processed, and whether they are quarantining inter-country mailings.
