  1. Thanks, hopefully I can repaint the rest of the interior, I'm working on my skills detailing dashes and such.
  2. Finished stripping the dash and interior tub. Foiled the door trim and around the cluster/center console tonight. Everything into primer tonight, painting tomorrow. Hopefully I can pull this off like I did the steering wheel. Thanks for checking this out.

  4. Mk5 jetta. 2008. It's been a good car,but a ton of odd engineering decisions were made. The 2.5 five cylinder has the timing set on the rear of the engine, you drop the whole subframe, split the transmission/engine and go to work.
  5. 6 bolts and "dance" the heavy battery in. I'm 5'10" and need step stool to reach and not scratch or dent my truck. They sized that area so it goes in and out one way. No handle on the battery, even more fun. As for german cars, my wife's vw is loads of fun. The DOOR SKIN has to come off to replace the window regulator, a dozen or so differently sized fasteners that WILL damage the paint/panel if placed wrong. And the interior panel comes off as well to do the job.
  6. Here's one. My gmc has provisions for two batteries. They all use the same cab no matter if it's diesel, 1500 or 3500. Yet the battery location is the worse of the two on the 1500,buried by the windshield. Not in the easily accessible spot up front. That would be too convenient.
  7. Coach builders that build limousines have to figure for the added weight and the structural integrity of the vehicle when stretching it. Frames are reinforced, and in the case of a unibody,a frame section may be designed to tie everything together. I've stretched many motorcycles wheelbase, steering geometry(rake and trail) comes into play in order to have the motorcycle turn properly. A bit different than a car in that regard. This is all in a 1:1 sense.
  8. I'll take it. Be by with the check shortly.

    Fantastic looking Cuda. 👍👍
  10. I ride, not a lunatic or a squid, I've heard all manor of nicknames.
  11. Not that my wife has an issue with my models, but the shoe count gives me good ammo should the topic pop up. 👍
  12. This is awesome. I like the look, the stance, everything. Great build
  13. Looks awesome, you and the family get well.
  14. I'm always worried about burying details under primer/paint. As for sanding, if the paint isn't cured,it could end up causing you grief. I always prime for a few reasons, one to fill any fine scratches/blemishes, like a liquid body filler, and two adhesion. There is only the body line on that hood, maybe another LIGHT coat will flow out and cover. I wouldn't spray the whole car. Hopefully this helps man.👍👍.
  15. Lots of options for that truck, and the kit has 2 different engines and some other goodies. I went a bit crazy with mine, the kit has a ton of potential.
  16. Looking forward to seeing the progress on this, I enjoyed building mine. 👍👍
  17. Are those sanding scratches from under the paint. In the plastic or primer?
  18. Decided to strip the tub and dash. While they're soaking I took care of the glass, it was not good at all. Not sure if tire melt effects kits in the 90's era, but this thing had divots and scratches and was a sealed kit, though handled poorly. Sanded from 1500-6000,plastic x and finished with novus. The rear and side windows need plastic x and novus in the picture.
  19. Looking good, great color choices. Especially the interior
  20. Great looking charger.
  21. I was already graduated high school, that whole era musically was great. In many different genres. 👍👍
