Nice work, looks very realistic, especially how "crispy" the chassis is and the bondo spot on the fender. The moss is a cool touch of realism as well.

AMT 51 Chevy Bel Air - build start and a question

Great color combo. -
Thanks. There's a lot of pearl in this paint. I think that "muddies" up the black a bit, and I shot it thin. Two light, one medium and one "heavy" coat.

Going to pay attention to this one. Fantastic surgery so far. 👍👍 -
Luckily my back's still in good shape, knock on wood. Neck and dominate hand/arm not so much. The chair should help.🤞

The kid I worked with drank heavily, part culture, part coping I figured.

Fantastic work especially considering the issues with warping. In the end it's a great looking Pontiac.👍👍

I've gotta laugh, that's what I just replaced.

Not exactly model related, got a new chair for the workbench. Should be an improvement for long building sessions.

Thanks Alex. I plan on detailing this interior a thoroughly as possible, I've already got P.E. belt buckles, just gotta dye the belts. Being a 1/24 scale kit, hopefully they look right, if not time to scratch build.

Thanks Michael. I'm excited about this one.

I can't wait to clear it, it looks really good wet. The interior looks slightly darker under led lighting, when I brought it outside I was surprised. Here's one of my reference pictures

Not entirely sure, might be. I was surprised to see it, mostly classics, a few exotics and tons of new corvettes around where I live. Those things are as common camry's here -
Anyone I have known that served and went through things are this way. I worked with a kid that did two tours in Afghanistan, didn't say much about it, you could tell something was right below the surface. He had a T.B.I. and P.T.S.D, medical discharge from the Marines.

What I'm using as reference is exactly as you described, I've seen a few others with "stock-ish" interiors where the console, half the dash and seat backs and carpet were black, it looked pretty good. I like the oem look a bit more. Hopefully I can recreate it nicely. Thanks

What Did You See In Your Yard Today?
johnyrotten replied to Tim W. SoCal's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I think with all the rain we've gotten recently critters like that guy are making more of an appearance. I've been seeing a ton of toads, big ones, tree frogs and now that guy. He's living in the garden by my walkway, I saw them again this morning. Urban sprawl, climate change and all that has pushed a lot of animals away. But my deer are still around, they need to start paying rent.
