plastic peas needed
johnyrotten replied to sidcharles's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Airsoft bb's are the first thing that comes to mind. They have a few different "calibers", and different weights. Not sure what plastic they are made of. Seems like you want to use them to form the ends of tubing, there are assortments of stainless mixing balls available on the jungle website. https://www.amazon.com/JTAREA-14Values-Stainless-Precision-Assortment/dp/B0F4XNNT18/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=3OV7XBC0E9OB9&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Omw81Yw5SmmFICZKXrvN6n9LaktDfWzlblbTTo3XHAv1QMGIznlHsDkoS0haAvyDpoSBOfhR0L9Ll4a6fcFqbNRyybr8S9dJVhvjT4uyBCK1FpqNOO2frfC8qdq8cu_LHyJ5G3qKJ5T3ug2LeAQqp_Q_uULJTEdrdthHToC3R-zMVJ3WmhwcVM_VJXGT24senR64xPheHlwN-VpFi4rQ_g.Cx3l6qqz4NiwJ7YUIGn2-wSnz9zsgmuXT3QZjjeL5bo&dib_tag=se&keywords=stainless+steel+ball+assortment&qid=1755422287&sprefix=stainless+steel+ball+assortment+%2Caps%2C197&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1 -

What did you see on the road today?

That's cool. I don't see Studebakers often. Nice change of pace to see something different. -
Beautiful work Zippi. 👍👍

What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)
johnyrotten replied to LOBBS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I found a Stewart Warner vibration tachometer with the sleeve and instructions at a yard sale today. -
Rolls-Royce No Chemicals, No Paint, No Harmful Glues
johnyrotten replied to Anglia105E's topic in WIP: Model Cars
They number their cars similarly to what I deal with with vintage harley davidson motorcycles. Before certain years, the engine numbers are what are registered as there is no frame numbers or vin stampings. Thanks for the information, very interesting how other countries operate similarly, with small twist and changes. -
B&M Clutch-Flite transmission

Those cars definitely needed something beyond stock. This car was the first one I heard of a clutched auto. He explains why he chose that option https://www.hotrod.com/how-to/hrdp-0703-supercharged-pontiac-400-engine-build -

I actually looked it up, it's about three hours from me, and was sold according to what I found. Small world. Very cool that you can now reproduce an actual car ,tag and all. I like how the tag stays with the vehicle, we don't do that over here. -

My wife loves these photos. We have a lot of shade, it's difficult to get certain types to grow. -

This particular car is "design it as I go". I've had to move the front axle foward, the entire rear suspension is scratch built, differential was partially scratch built. It's an exercise in skill building for me. Everything you see comes apart and back together with little fuss. And is positively located, no chance of a mistake when I finally paint and assemble it for the last time. Still a long way away. On a box stock build I dry fit, clean up what's needed, paint, detail and finish.

Happy to see the experiment is working out for you. Hopefully you'll continue to have success, fingers crossed. Your idea with the in the interior is using the pva as a primer or bonding agent, correct? -
What Did You See In Your Yard Today?

All part of living in the "woods". I don't mind the creatures till they damage the house, or go after my dogs. Other than that, all good. It would be nice if they would pay some rent. -

It's my understanding these came into play before we had good converter technology. Not really sure how something like this would work on the street, everything I've seen with them were in full blown race cars. Interesting ideas -
