  1. That's how is goes, welcome to adulthood. My second car was a classic (1965 in 2001-2) I had a similar situation, high rates/risk pool. There's all sorts of hoops you gotta jump through in life, this is one of them. You'll get it sorted, and enjoy that Pontiac.
  2. I was able to source most parts for my lawn tractor locally, pulleys and the common sized main drive belt, but as usual the other "cvt drive" one is not available. Referenced the "gates" number and tracked one down not cheap as far as belts go. Nothing is simple, "off the shelf" or built to last anymore. Oh, and the transaxle is plastic. The entire housing. Built in obsolescence.
  3. Always liked this generation of subaru's. Cool build you got going on.
  4. Both drive belts on my ride on failed along with the composite plastic idler pulley. Looks like time for some upgrades.
  5. Safe to assume his "handle" would be his business name?
  6. I'm looking for a photo of the back side of one of these wheels to see if I could narrow a set for a build, these start at 15x8, I need to end up around 5 or 5.5 scale inches. Trying to fit 10 pounds in a one pound bag.
  7. It took a major heath situation at 38 years old for me to quit. I really didn't have a choice.
  8. Coat it with bit of peanut butter, it won't take much of the poison to do the trick
  9. Thanks for the tip,I'll pick some up. I got under the crawlspace yesterday with some diatomaceous earth, this is the first time in 8-9 years owning the place I've had this issue to this extreme.
  10. Just I quick tip, start with very light pressure for scribing. Less chance of the blade wandering. 👍
  11. Very nicely done.
  12. That looks great. Nicely done.
  13. Great looking build. The black and gold looks beautiful. 👍👍
  14. The ant-pacolypse currently occurring in my house. I think all the recent rain has driven them indoors.
  15. Scratched up an ls swap for my next build. Engine and transmission mounts, and a road race oil pan. I managed to scrape together the ls with a tko 5 speed from the parts bin.
  16. These two have been buzzing around all day. Sorry for the bad second picture, that one doesn't like any movement.
  17. Cool build Michelle.
  18. Great looking super bee. Nice to see it in a different high impact color.
  19. Upstate New York, I'm all too familiar with rust as well. Recreating mother nature has its own challenges, for sure. Perfect paint is something that often run into issues with, I set my personal expectations way too high, and nit pick everything.
  20. I did it on a whim and it worked out. I use a lot of washes and dry brushing in my builds, the scoops and headlights are molotow with a very thin wash, I actually handled the headlights to ruin the luster of the molotow.
  21. They wire mowers oddly for some reason, and the safety switches, anti-back fire junk just complicates things. Do you recall what wire was originally grounded out?
  22. It's blowing the fuse when you shut it off. Most ,not all, ground out the coil. It's referred as the "kill" wire. Mine has a capacitive ignition (cdi) which does the opposite and removes 12v when the key is off. What engine is on the rider? Check for a short in the headlight circuit, as that and the anti backfire solenoid are shared on most ignition switches. Then check the ignition switch for an internal short.
  23. Absolutely ludicrously insane ride ,Zippi. I love it. It's like a full bodied fuel altered. 👍👍
