  1. I have a great interest in metrology and machining, I find many of those types of tools helpful. These adjustable parallels work well as a small square, and setting frame rails parallel, ride height ect
  2. Building a radiator such as that would definitely fit the bill. Most have between 2-4 separate rows sandwiched to make up a "core". At this scale, steel pins or wire might be a better option than styrene.
  3. The tubes inside an actual radiator are small diameter, and sometimes flattened. You'd have to run a series of tubes/solid either vertically or horizontally depending on the style of radiator. Between the screen. Tedious work.
  4. Aggressive, more potent solvents. Hotter solvents are more prone to damaging plastics.
  5. The back of an old #11 blade works well. Steady hand, light pressure to start.
  6. Not really an allowance, I'd get handed small jobs in the shop and get a few bucks for it. That morphed into me becoming the "pull this or that out" guy, and more money. That money went towards models, clothes, bicycles and eventually my first two cars. Taught me the value of working towards something
  7. More progress on this mess. Made a pair of coil overs and ended up scratch building the entire rear portion of the chassis. Getting the ride height where I wanted it was fun. I'm going for an street driven old school "altered" look,if there is such a thing. Fuel altered's are some of my favorite cars to watch. Waiting on the ten spoke front wheels to show up, those will really pull the look together, and I can set the front height. We'll see what that's going to involve. Thanks for looking. 👍👍
  8. Interesting product. I see it has a laquer top coat. Looking forward to see if it dulls the finish like other products I've read about. Cheaper than molotow as well.
  9. I had wrongfully assumed it was the Chevelle. Unless someone has taken on a project of this size, very few understand what goes into building them. At times you can only go so far, part A needs clearance for C and we aren't there yet,ect.ect. An old timer I assisted with a 48 pontiac when I was 17 told me "you build them three times". Mock up, assembly and finishing. Fixing others work only adds to frustration, work and cost of both capital and time. That Chevelle sounds like it will be a work of art. And a big plus having a good client 👍👍
  10. Not mine, my wife has a small collection of VW items. She hunts for the old, original pieces.
  11. I bet someone's upside down on that build, or close to it. By the way, nice work you posted elsewhere.
  12. https://www.trifive.com/threads/1957-paint-charts.216624/ It seems like there is many potential combinations depending on trim levels and special orders. The most basic answer I've found was the trim color matches the roof. Hopefully this helps.
  13. I saw the greatest vanity plate on my way home. He's got the fuzzy dice as well. Probably the kind of thing I'll do when I get to the age, if the plates available. 👍👍
  14. Here's a couple from GM. 67-71 c10 truck and the older 50's versions. The H.A.M.B is a great resource for this kind of information. Tons of knowledge and information there.
  15. A steady hand and good brush. I also made sure the paint will flow and came back with touch ups. Those brushes are a spotter and round.
  16. The monogram 70 chevelle has the wheel you're looking for, but its for an SS. It's a 1:24 kit, so that may be an issue.
  17. Awesome little chevy. Definitely the kind of build you don't see everyday. Gluebombs afford so much creativity. Fantastic build👍👍
  18. I bought a bunch of materials for casting, made some parts with varying success, then discovered 3d printed parts. I've purchased probably 5-6 different kits just for parts and various bits to cast.
  19. You've got to take her to dinner now.👍👍
  20. I have the same outlook. I've got a few I've back-burnered so i can improve my skills on certain aspects they need.
  21. I caught this on the Shake and Bake podcast, she's been all over that record lately. Her old man taught her well.
  22. If you can swing it, do it!! Perfect car for a set of those. 👍👍
  23. Polished up the aluminum for the firewall. This is gonna be fun
