David, sorry to hear about your condition. I have used craft acrylics thinned with createx 4011 or 4021 reducer, brush painted with success. Found that little gem of knowledge here on the forum. I use it mainly for weathering and interior work. Soap and water clean up. No real odor that I can smell, though I'm aware a mask should be used when spraying createx products. It seems to help the paint flow out as well as with adhesion.

Look into a polyurea coating. More expensive than epoxy, doesn't chip and expands/ contracts with the concrete. My boss used it in certain parts of our shop.

Later versions of these were essentially ford rangers, maybe the 2.3 L mazda engine from one of those would be fairly simple swap?
