  1. I should have mentioned this before: no fan belt. BTW, great work on the body.
  2. Here's the real thing. That kit engine looks a little strange as the spark plugs go into the cylinder top sides, through the cooling cover. I'll try to dig out my unbuilt copy.
  3. Permatex Red RTV works very well for making molds, especially for small parts. About 1/8" to 3/16" thick will cure overnight (or less time). Easier to mix about 1/20th by volume flour (yup, plain old kitchen flour) - then you can layer 5/16" and have it harden in less than two hours. This RTV uses H2O in the atmosphere to harden, and flour has enough (I think that's what happens). I recommend MicroMark CR-300 for casting resin - low odor, quick cure, excellent to work. It does not adhere well to smooth surfaces.
  4. I have 50+ unfinished models; I do a little more on them as time accelerates by me. Here's a sample:
  5. These are great kits! I've built the Cobra and have the Vette, unstarted. The U.S. market for scale autos has sadly shifted to 1/18 die casts, it seems to me.
  6. Excellent! I have wondered for some time how much of the Toyota design was based on the Alfa Canguro, a beautiful show car from 1964. I've overlaid them here:
  7. Very clean build and great color choices.
  8. I love this entire build.
  9. Well executed originality - a treat!

Beautiful paint, clean build and excellent panel lines! And an interesting subject choice.
  13. Beautiful - brings back memories. I had a '60 over 50 years ago, but not an Impala.
  14. I strongly recommend any two-part catalyzing body putty (I use Bondo professional glazing and spot putty - it comes in a tube with a small tube of hardener). You can control how fast it hardens by how much hardener you mix in, it is softer than styrene when hard (easier to file/sand to shape) and does not shrink. Use non-catalyzed only for very small or thin work.
  15. Sorry - should have checked. The A/N engines may have used the LT5 as a starting point. Hard to find facts on this.
  16. BTW, the kit version of the LT5, or Aurora/Northstar, is available in the Shelby Series 1.
