Maserati 3500 gt, customized. This kit, or the Monogram reissue, for a starting point. Or a Ferrari 250 Berlinetta. There was also a similar 250 with a straighter rear fender. Or for a real challenge.
Beautiful car and model! http://www.italianhorses.net/DB/330-512-Monza-Dino.htm#330 - 365 - 412 provides a detailed list of 330P4 kits, curtesy of Alex Kustov. The Union kit is still available.
I keep a few small pieces of drawer liner (the rubber-coated type) for opening stuck lids. Also as a base for sawing or drilling small parts. I do wish Model Master paints had plastic lids with inner plastic liners similar to most other model paint makers.
http://www.scaleplasticcars.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=24373 has a fix for hidden Photobucket photos. I don't have any PB pix, so I can't try this. Good luck.
If you cover the top 1/3 of each headlight (no extension), you could give the front a modern, agro look to go with the new grille. Good work on the rear window. I imagine you're planning to lower the suspension maybe 1/8 inch? This is coming along very well.
Mr. Drysdale, I respectfully submit that, since radical customs like yours are only seen on ModelCarsMag once in a blue moon at best, you owe the few custom builders MORE PHOTOS! Think of the younger builders who have never seen a custom model car contest!
For reissues, I'd like the foreign cars done by U.S. companies, primarily the Aurora series which included the Maserati 3500 GT, and also the MPC Fiero, Revell Porsche 928, etc.
With the greenhouse moved so far back, how will the driver get in and out? It looks like you've also moved the rear axle way back. Please, more photos!
Well done and very original. Excellent work on fitting the air cleaner and clear headlights. BTW, I've used a NASCAR chassis (or parts) under several of my builds too.
