  1. A better question would be "What pickup kits should I avoid?" Most of the kits mentioned here are excellent choices!
  2. Here's my relatively stock build of the Revell Black Widow kit way back when it was first released, great kit!
  3. 45 minutes of masking for 45 seconds of airbrushing!
  4. Got the body polished out using Novus 2:
  5. Here's how those seatbelts turned out, interior is pretty much finished!
  6. TIP: This is how I make using photo-etch seatbelt hardware much easier to use. I put tape over the end, then cut leaving a tape pointed end. Now it's easy to push in and pull through, without all the hassle of the ribbon coming unfrayed and hanging up part way in.
  7. That black roadster side view on the bottom of the above post is so awesome, perfection to my eye, love that one!
  8. Working on the dash, added lots of extra details, but I still need to smooth out those pull knobs! Still just a mock-up but it'll look good once it's tweaked and installed!
  9. I fitted pedals, the shifter and a roll cage from the Mobius Nova gasser kit. Fire extinguisher detailed and installed. Passenger seat has Ford lap belts, driver's seat will have black racing harness. I added a decal to the upper roll bar that will probably not be seen!
  10. I did some re-shaping of the '64 Fairlane bucket seats and made stands to raise them slightly off the floor.
  11. I made a plate for the floor shifter, drilled some parts box door handles and glued wire in them, cleaned up a fire extinguisher, drilled out a column mount tach, and sprayed them all chrome.
  12. Okay, so it wasn't that easy, but it sure is essential, the difference is noticeable. It looks like a '62 or '63, not a '60 or '61. I went with a factory color, Acapulco Blue Poly, but nothing else is factory correct!
  13. That's how it's done! Great job!
  14. I built this one which offered 2 different grilles for different years. Chassis is generic and engine is way off, but I still enjoyed doing what I could with it.
  15. WOW! That's a lot of "modifications" totally cool, mostly scratch built, I LOVE it! Pearl white will look period perfect, and maybe some purple scallops or fade away highlights, or whatever you choose I'm sure will be a show stopper! I'm a big fan of making stuff, like you've done, very cool modelling skills!
  16. Turned out great, I'd sure love to drive one just like that! (only 25 times larger) Sweet!
  17. Great looking chopped sedan Greg, which body is that? AND............. ya mean 600 ISN'T darn fine sandpaper??? LOL
  18. I love the way you're doing that scoop, awesome bit of real modelling!
  19. Very nice projects, can't wait to see more!
  20. With the hood opened up to clear the blower drive, there's not much left between that and the chrome insert. So I decided to blank it off, and those fender ornaments, they were missing, and because I eliminated the chrome hood insert, I decided to fill those in as well. Still need tweaking but I'm liking the look of less chrome. I do want to try and keep the "62 only" side chrome though.
  21. Mike, now that I've finished my '32 sedan, I'm getting back to the Falcon and I agree I must make the mods you suggested. Any tips before I start on that rear bodywork? Thanks
  22. Stunning work and that green interior is just so sumptuous, love it!
  23. Too bad they're not better, but I'm sure you'll make a masterpiece out of it! It certainly is a gorgeous car in 1:1, can't wait to see your work on this. Ciao!
  24. WOW! That's a CRAZY amount of splicing and dicing, and I love it! I used the '50 Ford kit's chopped windshield on a '41 Lincoln I did, worked great!
  25. I've built 2 of these excellent kits, one bone stock, and one made into an imaginary 3 window "salesman's" coupe, but the salesman sold his to a hot rodder!
