  1. I used these fine trans kits to make mine into this:
  2. I took the Riviera to NNL North in Minneapolis this weekend. Such a great show as always. I've been going there for years and have made great friends, so it's always a good time! If you live anywhere near, you should go, maybe see you there next year!
  3. Just got back from NNL North in Minneapolis. First showing of the "Blue '62" Had a great time as usual there, have made so many great friends over the years of attending. Cheers!
  4. Webers are from Norm of Reps and Mins of Maryland, just used a kit manifold modified. Valley cover is actually a custom side piece for a Chevy 6 from a Galaxie Kit. I need to make fuel lines and linkages, add wipers and she's done! Keeping it clean with no door handles or mirrors or antenna or emblems. (easier that way, LOL)
  5. I've got the solenoid system! (in my imagination, that is) LOL
  6. Looks better in outdoor light. Still need Weber linkage and fuel lines. I'm now thinking no door handles, OPINIONS?
  7. The Revell '57 Ford is better for the chassis and parts than the AMT, I believe.
  8. Those look great! Here's mine:
  9. Getting the ride height right, like a factory prototype, not a cool, lowered custom.
  10. Okay, I see that this will be another super amazing, ultra realistic, unbelievable replica of the fantastic F-40! In fact, it already is! WOW.
  11. I got more done on the interior, even a little FORD emblem in the steering wheel!
  12. I made a pair of sun visors, stole a rear view mirror from a '69 Riviera kit, cut a piece of rear glass and mounted it with no trim, then I glued the upper interior and floor pan on! Tail lights are similar shape to the rear glass and also have no trim. I made front and rear bumpers from the stock ones, sprayed Revell chrome on and mounted them. Here the front and rear styling is seen looking very much like a stock Riv, but nothing like the AMT kit! As they say, "It's starting to look like a car"
  13. Back to this concept car, I made a rear license plate and backup light piece from 6 pieces of .015 X .030 on end, then filed it down and foiled it and filled the lights with canopy cement.
  14. I started working on mine, but it looks like it's been abandoned in a field for 50 years!
  15. I got the pickup painted, Tamiya TS-44 over Tamiya white primer cleared, not airbrushed, all spray cans.
  16. Fantastic build, looks about perfect to me!
  17. David, thanks to your amazing build, I DID start trying to restore mine! I found a few interesting facts, first I build it in 1977! But, I was a terrible builder back then, LOL. I twisted parts off the trees and didn't sand off the nubs, or mold seams. I used WAY too much tube glue. I painted it with enamels, and extremely poorly. It's not on the top of my "to-do" list but it sure was a blast watching your build and so far, just between 1/24th builds, I'll be playing around and start my own thread. Thank you again for the inspiration!
  18. WOW! You had me at "I started cutting".........LOL! Looks fantastic already, I know you'll end up with a fabulous model!
  19. Great work so far on this "difficult" kit! I also cut the bottom out but I used the Foose Caddy underneath.
  20. Man your work on this has been inspirational! Makes me want to pull that old built junker I have and re-do it! Isn't THAT what us modelers looking at the internet is all about? Inspiration!!
  21. As much as I liked the open pore wood I felt that it was just too modern for this build, so I brushed some clear orange over it and now it looks more period correct.
  22. Interior looks fabulous! I love the engine colours too.
  23. That turned out great! Excellent photos as well!
  24. Okay, I was rushed yesterday posting pictures with flocking dust everywhere, but today, I'm more relaxed. I cut the pedals from the '66 Riv kit because I already stole the engine from it, so pedals no longer required in that one. I printed some Buick logos and just glued one onto the steering wheel and put a small photo etch ring over it and some canopy glue. Outdoor lighting shows the interior better, now it's just glass, headliner, dome lights, sun visors and rear view mirror, THEN I can glue this into the body. I'm sure it'll look good enough once it's inside the hardtop body, that's why I wasn't too concerned about the smallest details. Cheers!
