  1. I think Mobius did a fantastic job offering us so many variants of the Ford pickups. Slightly inaccurate, like almost all models, didn't bother me, they still look VERY cool built. So I'm sure they will offer the Chevies in long, short, flareside, wideside, 2 wheel drive, 4X4, V8s and a 6, and all the years that used that body, different hoods of course! Like the line of Fords, we can interchange parts from different Chevy kits to make something unique! I converted my '66 shortbox to a 4X4 using another Mobius kit. Parts just fell into place.
  2. That Starliner kit can be used under many '61, '62, '63, '64 Fords and Mercs. First fit the underhood stuff, cut the floor out of the interior and use the Starliner chassis. You can also "harvest" the door pulls and window cranks! You'll end up with 3 main components, the Starliner frame, floor pan, and your body of choice! Adds nice detail to some simple kits! Cheers!
  3. Fantastic result! The kit itself needs work, and you did it! And you went over the top on some extra "attention to detail" Sweet!
  4. I'm thinking of using a second body so the front wheel openings can replace the rear openings, all four will be the same.
  5. Oooh, I love your project already! I fitted the Foose Caddy underside, but mine's a custom. I added a bit of length ahead of the windshield to the body, as seen in the white styrene pieces. Lower half of body at the front door line and upper half in the center of the wheel openings. Wheel openings didn't change because they're in the lower half. Can't wait to see more of yours!
  6. I've been "dreaming" of customizing one, but it's not easy because they're just so beautiful as is! Have to go radical, otherwise you just can't make it look better!
  7. Wow, that's looking fantastic!
  8. Lookin' good! It's going to be killer I'm sure!!
  9. I think that front bumper sticks out too far, now's the time to trim the valance back if you wish. Since you've already removed the chrome, you can remove some of the bumper sides too where it intrudes the wheel opening, AFTER you shorten the valance!
  10. Not sure if my subscription has expired, I wasn't notified, but I never got 221!
  11. I am still playing with it and just MIGHT try to make it cool. Having so much fun though so if I never finish it, I had fun!
  12. I am also so sorry for your loss. Pets add so much to our lives.
  13. I started building this as a pro-street "Blazer", from a pickup kit, over 30 years ago! Dug it out and refined some old bodywork. Not sure what I'll do with it as pro-street is no longer "cool". Can't make it modern with those gigantic tubs, the rolled pans, ZR-1 tail lights, all outdated. I MIGHT just build it though as it would've been when it would've been cool.
  14. Great headlight solution!
  15. Here's that Phantom Woodie. I chopped the top, not the wood, grafted the '50 Chev pickup front, made it into a 2 door and re-worked the wood to incorporate the Chevy rear fenders. Interior will have to be scratch built! BUT I love doing this stuff! Cheers!
  16. Nice work! What did you use for the headlight buckets?
  17. This might not be the look you're after but I found the tires I wanted and the big wheels that fit them, but I cut out those wheel centers and fitted the Fireball rims and dog dish caps that you have. After finishing, here's the result:
  18. Man that looks fantastic!
  19. WOW! Are we going to see it "live" this Sunday?
  20. This could be the coolest Eldo ever!
  21. Wow, great color! Going to be very Kool!
  22. I know that the Starliner engine is not correct. I changed the oil pan and transmission though, parts from Fireball. Maybe the '57 Ford from Revell would have a better engine choice?
  23. I used the engine from the Starliner kit and made some mods, made that front exhaust crossover from sprue and bits of styrene.
