@Steve H that's really nice, and that stance is MEAN! We have the same taste-yes a lot of work, but I think it makes or breaks a car, whether model or 1:1.

This is so cool! Love seeing old survivors like this saved. ?

I always enjoy looking at what you build because you get the stance right. This one is particularly nice!

This is an education on pro street stance. Everyone building a pro street car needs to look at this. Perfect!

I love that engine. Looks especially mean after the weathereing.

I did a build on commission once in 1976 with the AMT '76 Mustang ll for a fellow who had a real one. It was a pain in the butt from the beginning, partly because it's a crappy kit, partly because the guy was a pest. When it was done the fellow was really disappointed. I explained to him it was the kit, not me, but he had lofty expectations I didn't figure on. That was it for me, never again. I pulled this pic off the web. The wheels/tires are what really kills the kit, but that's what I had to work with in '76. No wonder the guy was mad.

Well that's really interesting. I had mine done 2 weeks ago. Just a gentle in and out, maybe 5 seconds, and I'm on my way home. No pain, no discomfort, no after effects. I get it done again tomorrow 3 days before a procedure, this time at a hospital. We'll see if they are as gentle as my primary doc's medical group.

Great drum brakes (esp. for hot rods)?
Draggon replied to OldNYJim's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The drums in this pic are the bottoms for the stanchion accessories included with the AMT '66 T-Bird "customizing series". They most likely appeared in other AMT kits as well. Quite simplified, but worked fine for my purposes. -
That's looking great! But the paint-wow-it puts this one over the top!

Magnificent job! Makes me want to build one ? -
Look at the white tree. The Revell Roadster Chassis Speed Equipment parts pack! That's pretty darn amazing, something many of us hoped but never expected we'd ever see again.

I actually like that! There other stuff, not so much.

Here's something really weird-Mongolian metal throat music. I like it. So does Metallica. The second one is even weirder. Scroll through it to hear Maria Franz's vocals. Mystically creepy in a good way.

One of my cars featured on the "Wheels are Everything" blog

Good for you Steve, how cool is that! -
I've loved this cover for so long I can't remember. Maybe some day I'll build a model of the car.

I no longer want to be a USPS customer.
Draggon replied to Brutalform's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I had 3 filters for my vacuum sent via USPS once. The package showed up, literally, like one of their forklifts drove over the corner of it. USPS official response on the matter was "we dont do that" (they really said that!) and told me that the shipper sent it that way. Yeah, right, Hoover will send filters out like that. And of course Hoover said USPS did it. More recently is a mailbox issue. Our street has locking cluster mailboxes, 8 separate cubbies, one for each address. There is also a nice large slot to send outgoing mail. They replaced the box, but the slot for outgoing mail is blocked off. Complaints lodged with the USPS by neighbors indicate this is just the way it is. I tried to give my letters to the carrier, but she says carriers do not accept outgoing mail. So now I have to do online bill pay or drive a mile to an old blue community mailbox. I know online bill pay is popular, but I'm old school (and old) and it's not something I would choose if I had a choice. In the 8 months I've been paying online I've already had fraud perpetrated. -
JC it's been one of my favorite groups for many years. I love Red Dust and Spanish Lace, both the album and the song.

That chassis looks great! Perfect choice on the wheels/tires, and oooo that color!

Billy Gooche's email is poppawheelie65@yahoo.com. I last purchased from them in late 2017 and it was direct. Good luck!

Motor's Manuals
Draggon replied to bluestringer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What a neat time capsule. ? The Shell Station I worked at in 1972-75 had an interchange manual. I found out 2000cc Pinto distributor points worked just fine in a 1600cc VW dual port. That helped out when my girlfriend's bug died late on a Sunday afternoon a long way from home, but only a block from a gas station. -
I like that! ☝️

What did you see on the road today?
Draggon replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
And the minimum is (or was) 24". Pat Ganahl had a drastically lowered Cal Look Bug that got cited. Rather than raise the front end, he added 32 Ford headlights on bumper bracket mounts at the approved height. I'm not sure how well it went over, and what he did long term, but in the Hot VW's article I read it was deemed legal by the CHP. Mine were at 25" so I was good to go. -
According to the Atlantis facebook page, these will also be reissued. ?
