  1. Ha, the Curse of Oakey Spalding.
  2. That's pretty neat, front mounted blower in a '40 ?
  3. I remember that one Marty! It's been one of my favorites for quite awhile now.
  4. Oh man, I didn't realize it was "that" Luke. He did good work.
  5. I think it's a model. The driver looks a bit one-dimension, and while this car was red, it's too bright in this photo--it looks black in old b&w photos. The lettering looks more like the diecast of this car than the real thing. Finally, the gas filler door was missing on the real car. Nice work if it is, took me some searching to find differences.
  6. This is Hans Heyer and his 1980 500 SLC Le Mans car. The story I read said that he built this for one reason--to be the fastest down the Mulsanne straight. Varying reports say it didn't work, was banned, or Mercedes wouldn't allow him to race it.
  7. John is right on the McMullen roadster!
  8. I'm tempted to by the kit, paint it orange, and change the a to an o. "Lifegourd" Maybe put a pumpkin decal on the doors and hood.
  9. It's from Gone In 60 Seconds ll that never got finished. That's all I know.
  10. Yeah, that's the only part of this I never liked.
  11. I couldn't stand "JJ Da Boss" when he first appeared a on the show. Now I find him entertaining and funny as heck, he seems to enjoy being himself. I like him better than Chief.
  12. That is really cool, I love it!
  13. My favorite of his is Sultans of Swing. ?
  14. Has anyone bought that DTR '32 coupe kit? Are the decals pictured included?
  15. Some folks that can remember 1977 should be familiar with "Ca Plane Pour Moi" by Plastic Bertrand. I think this one's better.
  16. I liked that one and thought it looked pretty good!
  17. On a similar topic-in 2018 I was extremely into the Playstation video game, GT Sport. I was spending at least a few hours every day racing online (like IRacing) At one point I was classified 39th in the north/south America region and had gotten so serious my mental attitude was suffering. I remember hopping into my Durango and for a few moments having that same competitive mindset. I actually had to tell myself it's not a video game. ?
  18. I've got the Arii wheels and tire sets. While they are lovely, they're 1/24 and way too big to look in scale on smaller bodied 1/25 scale cars unless you want to simulate 16" wheels.
  19. Are the Fireball Modelworks wheels close enough? http://www.fireballmodels.info/fmr-035-37.htm
  20. Here's is my Lindberg "Pickup Rod". It was an ebay rescue that I had to have. Other than some cleaning and significant touch-ups, it's just like it arrived. One of my favorite models!
  21. 1. AMT 1932 Ford roadster 2. AMT 1940 Ford Coupe 3. AMT 1940 Ford Sedan 4. Monogram 1955 Chevy (the first one with the bubble top) 5. Monogram Little T 6. Monogram 1930 Ford Coupe/Cabriolet 7. Monogram 1930 Ford Phaeton (the 1/24 original) 8. AMT 1932 Ford Coupe 9. AMT 1950 Ford Convertible (original 1962 release) 10. Any of the Revell dragster/rail combo kits from the 60's honorable mention is the AMT Studebaker
  22. I'm a cat owner and this really irks me. IMO do the right thing for the cats no matter what, and just ignore the people. My current kitty "adopted me" when she was about 18 mos old. She's such a sweet loving cat I couldn't imagine anyone not wanting her. She had either been ignored, or treated poorly by her original family when she came to live with me. Dang Carl, sorry to hear this. These are tough times for us. Hang in there. ?
  23. I've got some health issues including asthma and a compromised immune system. I buy a lot of things on Amazon Fresh, but they do not have everything, and sometimes the prices are ridiculous (and not in a good way) The girlfriend friend shops for me locally. Apparently folks in my area are hoarding in preparation for a resurgence of Covid-19, and already the shelves are not well stocked. I worked at a Shell station during the fuel crisis of the 70's. Believe me, if everyone acted normally this would not be such a big deal. So screw it, add me to the hoarders list, I'm stocking up. I refuse to go without things simply because I don't want to be a moron like these other folks. '
  24. Another masterful work of art. You've got an unusual combination of elements that would not seem to work together, but they do quite well. I'd never have expected red and gold to work, but it looks great. I dig the tonneau cover over the rear seats. Well done John. ?
