  1. Several years back, the "people" of California demanded some good old smog-check justice, feeling that in general they were getting ripped off by unscrupulous smog stations. California adopted a "test only" system and had separate stations where only a test could be performed, and no repairs. If you fail then you go a different station to get repairs made and test again. Smog cks have run around $30-40 for a long time. If you get chosen by DMV for a test only, it's three or four times as much. If your car can't pass after repairs there's a convoluted system to petition the state to allow you to keep your car and drive it. Another swing and a miss for the land of fruits and nuts.
  2. Romeo Void was a pretty decent show, on par with Pearl Harbor and the Explosions. Better than King Crimson, not in the same league as Blondie.
  3. April Wine Loverboy Rush
  4. He posted to his facebook page a couple weeks ago.
  5. Actually I don't hate it. I'd drive one....because. Looks pretty good in the water.
  6. Oh, that makes sense. I had never thought about the urchins playing with these. There I go again, taking things way to seriously.
  7. I don't understand why Revell keeps messing up the fit between the wheels/tires to the body. It has no relationship with the real thing. Looks more like a Saturday night dirt tracker. See the rear 3/4 view on Jr.s car posted above.
  8. Interesting, but I'm not sure how much one could save unless you have Prime or spend more than $49. The kits I looked at seem to be about around $5 cheaper than ebay, but here in glorious Kalifornia we are stuck with almost 10% sales tax from Amazon which doesn't apply to ebay, at least with things Ive purchased. It does look like a possible alternative though. Thanks for sharing this.
  9. Beautiful, I love that shade of blue. Chopping the top made a huge difference in this one!
  10. Wow, that's outstanding. All of the folks on this forum that are building that kit should take a look at yours first. Its a tutorial on what a Camaro should look like.
  11. They look like vintage Studebaker Halibrands, just larger, so I think they would work.
  12. I tried to give my business to Hobby Town before they closed. It was tough. Old AMT kits before the Round2 take over were 20 bucks, Revell 20-24, Tamiya were astronomical. When Tamiya fine surface primer was readily available for 8 bucks, they wanted 14. Now my "LHS" is Michaels. It's equally as bad, just in different ways. The last true LHS got taken over by emminent domain 10 years ago. The land still sits vacant.
  13. Enough so that my heirs will have to list them on ebay.
  14. I have no idea who wrote that, but it wasn't me. What I wrote was " Sorry to say I dont like the wheels, but otherwise its great " I love gassers, and am particularly fond of vintage ones. The wheels are the only thing detracting from a vinrage 60's look.
  15. Well, this is nice. Sorry to say I dont like the wheels, but otherwise its great. I like the engine, and your headers are outstanding. Love the paint too. Job well done!
  16. I love that paint work
  17. It's pretty well known that the original issue had the body molded in black. Ron Savoie ( fordrodnkustom ) ran across one that was molded in yellow.
  18. Gabby Bleeker's AA/FA is there around the minute mark, Art Malone at 1:56. I think I saw the Freight Train too, but it looks different than the version I'm familiar with. I also saw something that looked like the Surfers AA/FD early on, but the vid isn't too clear.
  19. There's a junkyard on there too right now. Not cheap, but a lot less than the unbuilt original. http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-AMT-OLDSMOBILE-THE-STREAKER-FUNNY-CAR-BUILT-INSTRUCTIONS-PARTS-RESTORE-/371568228239?hash=item568331378f:g:AQgAAOSwxp9W2xua
  20. Sexual Telepathy is great. Sounds a bit like an acoustic Fleetwood Mac, and reminds me of some band I liked years ago. Cant remember who it was.
  21. Not even thinking about the car, how does the GUY do it? That's an average of 165 miles per day, every day, for 50 years.
  22. Gorgeous chop you did
  23. Jesus has gotta have a good story
