  1. That's a neat roadster you've made. Add a windshield, and a spreader bar at the front frame horns and it looks pretty close.
  2. This one has survived for 30 years now
  3. Huh? Never heard that. Look at this pic.
  4. I've been reading about the VW emissions fiasco. While we may not yet have muffler bearings, we do in fact have muffler fluid. Will wonders never cease. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diesel_exhaust_fluid
  5. I used to be a construction equipment mechanic. I've seen more than a few setups the laborers put onto exhaust manifolds to heat their burritos.
  6. Looks like its got a frame from a pickup truck, or something like that. Weirdness under the headers, and those parallel leaf springs on the front have got to go.
  7. It was a hot thing in the 70's show car craze. I think ( key word THINK ) its layering with different speed reducers, so that the top coat dries before the basecoat. I used to know how it was done and surprised by its simplicity. If I remember, i'll let you know. In the meantime ck this out:
  8. 9. Watching the progress on this is fascinating. Yeah, happy birthday brother
  10. Thanks harry, I'm using Google Chrome and its updated. It works OK but a bit slow, I think I exaggerated the "forever and a day". I was more looking for feedback, who uses what and how they like it. DeviantArt is pretty cool, anyone have experience with it?
  11. I like it, very nice. Why did you sell it?
  12. That's great Gaute, brought a huge smile to my face. I love it!
  13. Nice mockup Bill. The new front tires make a big difference. I'm quite surprised that I like the idea of sidepipes
  14. Got a notice that as of October 1 the free Fotki accounts will be closed,so what are the options? I'm not into spending $20 a year just to store my pictures somewhere. I've tried Photobucket, but for some reason my computer doesn't like it, it takes forever and a day to upload photos and scroll through albums. So does anyone have some recommendations, and if so, what are the postives and negatives?
  15. I like that "competition Ala Kart" pic at the bottom right of this pic. I have 2 of the new tool Ala Kart kits minus wheels, tires, and engine that I've had no idea what to do with.
  16. I tired to put this text into the original pic.....failed miserably. I think it applies though!
  17. Nice work! The narrow eye kits with the old style headlights aren't seen that often. Not to rain on your parade, but can you space the headlights out a bit?
  18. Beautiful Mark. Green is my favorite color!
  19. Something looked off.......I just now realized the character line down the side of the front fenders and nosecone isn't stock. I really love it. How did you do that?
  20. It seems to be fine without primer. The pearls and opaques require no basecoat...the red Merc above was shot over black primer. The one below is a combination of pearl copper, pearl gold, and opaque peach shot right over bare plastic. The peach ended up being a lot more opaque that I expected, and kinda ruined the look I was after.
  21. I thought it was a K-car too. I found it though.......
  22. I concur with Tom. These are absolutely beautiful Lots of pigment, covers well, beautiful colors. Very easy to spray. I used a Badger 200 at about 16 to 18 psi. The absolute best thing I've found is that if you have screw up, you can feather it out with wet or dry, and just respray that area. Just like a 1:1 it blends perfectly, no need to respray the entire body, or even an entire panel. It dries satin, so it needs clear. I've used the Aztec clear and its wonderful. I dries rock hard and polishes up great. Here's a couple pics: This is the pearl red with Aztec clear. No wetsanding, just a good polish with "Ultimate Restore" a polish made for slot cars. And here's some messing around on my part. This is how it looks without clear. This paint goes on real smooth.
