I have a glider pilots license, and hundreds of hours in unpowered flight. It's real, and quite possible. I've seen gliders in competition aim for an X on the runway, and miss it by inches, and they are a heck of a lot larger than this fellow. I wasn't that good, missing by a few feet. A wing suit would be more controllable in those circumstances due to the fact that it would react quicker. The only issue would be that he would need to plan his descent a LONG time in advance.
