  1. I built a Heller 917 several years ago and don't recall any major problems. It went together without any big trauma.
  2. Nice build. Personally, I would drill out the heads for spark plug wires.......
  3. My browser has a SEARCH function that I can use to find stuff like that. I can wipe my butt all by myself......
  4. "Pau" is Mr. Gasol's first name........
  5. My uncle used to have a 59 Ranchero promo on his workbench to hold straight pins for his hobby, building large-scale model airplanes. I also remember seeing soft-plastic 59 Rancheros back in the early 60's that looked pretty nice. Same company made 59 FOrd convertibles and 61 or 62 Cadillacs.
  6. I was asked to help move a couple of models to a different table at GSL last year. One car that was sitting on a base was almost dropped (not by me). The model rolled really well. We were being really careful & had to be even more vigilant after that. A couple of us almost had to clean our shorts after that. We tried to find the cars' owners first.
  7. There's also a pretty good 1/20-scale Stratos with an engine. I believe it was made by Entex. Long out of production though.
  8. Edelbrock makes a handling kit for it. Kinda pricey though. See the current issue of Hot Rod mag.
  9. Nice work on that Mark VII conversion!! Thunderbird/Cougar were on the Fox platform from 1980-88. Remember the Box Birds? Mark VII was on the Fox platform. Mark VIII was on the MN-12 platform.
  10. Anybody else think that female singer that got all the fuss from "Britain's Got Talent" looks like she could be Clarkson's sister?
  11. ...and the Pacer did not come out until the 75 model year......
  12. The color combo looks nice. This will be killer when done. Um, not to be picky, but I think you have the valve covers on upside down.......
  13. Nice build of an interesting vehicle. I have a question though: Who the heck is "Vittore" Bugatti?????
  14. Didn't you hear? The Aztecs decided that working with stone was a big hassle so they converted to paper for the 2013-up calendars........
  15. Matra 3.0 V-12..... A Honda CBX sounds pretty good too.
  16. The AMT 70 Chevelle kit that came out in the 90s had fender and quarter bulges that were totally wrong. More like 70-72 Pontiac fenders/quarters.....
  17. It's Casanova Frankenstein's ride!!!! Sorry the pictures didn't last.......
  18. A couple of the local hobby shops have an airliner fuselage half that is painted in bands of the various Alclad shades as part of the Alclad display.
  19. One of my cousins was among the first Fisher Guild contestants to build his entry from fiberglass. He won several state and regional awards, giving him the funds to obtain an engineering degree from the University of Utah. I got the entry packets for the competition, including wheels, a couple of times. I never entered but eventually built a car similar to the Guild entries from laminated wood. I cut the pieces to shape on a neighbor's bandsaw. I still have the car somewhere, missing one wheel.
  20. Some early production prototypes for the Mustang had a Cougar in the corral, similar to what eventually showed up on the Mercury pony car, as "Cougar" was being considered up until shortly before introduction to the public.
  21. I think Gunze Sangyo issued a kit of the IMSA Cobra. Not sure if that's the one Testor's used.
  22. Best way to hold the thread is to use a Flex-I-File u-shaped handle. Thin carpet thread is best to use, regular sewing thread stretches and breaks too easily. I have used this method for a couple of small projects and a friend has used it to cutout doors etc with good results.
  23. I believe if you live your life as you should and treat others properly you shouldn't worry about what the future holds or when the world might end.
  24. Ever see or hear of a cop getting a ticket for anything?
