Street Outlaws, Fastest in America
imarriedawitch replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm guessing it took "team" work. That once beaten by a team mate you let them go rather than call them back out. The repeated call outs is mutual assured destruction. The competition is too close for someone to beat another a couple of times in a row to gain a spot. -

I didn't realize just how far behind we are until recently. Last night our episode was where the kid puts his car on it's roof. Felt bad for him, he loses his car and all for what? Trying to get past Lizzy.....again. To me the format just doesn't work. Either there's too many cars, not enough weeks and too hard to get past the driver ahead because of the repeated call outs. Nobody is going from the back half of the list to the top the way it is currently put together. Maybe the last place driver needs to drop off each week or switching to a ten car list at the half way point would work better. Don't get me started on Chuck. Every week after a good pass he's in front of the camera telling us how he's going to march up that list like he's going to be one of the one's to beat. He's 19th! -

What’s your favorite television show
imarriedawitch replied to slusher's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
The first 10 minutes of the very first episode of the Americans was the best opening of a television series I've ever seen. The way the action was synced to the music just grabbed you. -
Acquired these over the last couple of weeks. The Flashpoint Daytona was from eBay and took every penny of my single, last second snipe attempt. Two of us bid the same dollar amount but I had a few pennies added to my bid and that was the difference. The Gibson engines from a buddy that can't build anymore. The Johan kits are from eBay and the NuNu kits are from Supernova Models. The Salvino kits are from a couple of vendors if I remember correctly.

I just bought that exact model. I have tinnitus and sometimes have trouble falling asleep and this really helps. -

Just as an FYI. Some of us don't get the current episode until after you guys in the U.S. -

I enjoyed the 64 car double elimination Cash Days but this "list" thing is too gimmicky for my taste. Street Outlaw Survivor and Street Outlaw Big Brother can't be far away. -
I think we get a little carried away sometimes. The B list and C list notables passing away in their 70's, 80's and 90's hardly seems newsworthy unless perhaps their death wasn't natural. A lot of the notices I see here are for people I kind of thought were probably already dead anyway.

Anything with a tubbed chassis I buy by the dozen.

Won an auction for a Flashpoint Resin '69 Daytona Pro Mod body this afternoon.

I like watching Columbus when there's the opportunity. They have a couple of guys that played their junior hockey here in London.

Not here. We get a lot of these shows on different nights than you. The last half of Minotaur vs. Blacksmith was a classic. Blacksmith vs. Minotaur - BattleBots - YouTube

Ten games on the NHL schedule tonight. Between TSN and Sportsnet I've got 11 channels and not a single game available in my region.

Got my first shot today as well. No side effects so far, not even any soreness at the injection spot. A young lady ahead of me threw up and passed out. I think that was more the thought of the needle than the vaccine. Right now my second shot is booked for almost four months out.

I'm waiting on a package going on 35 days now. Allentown PA to southwestern Ontario which typically arrives in 7 days. Once it was accepted by USPS (the actual package, not merely the shipping info.) it didn't move from the originating PO for over 3 weeks. Only this week did it make it to the border. It's half way here.

A left hander with those stats would get even more.

I had a young woman freak out on me in a parking lot. I got within a couple of inches of her car as I backed out of my spot. She thought I had backed out blindly and didn't know she was there and started honking her horn to get my attention. I had to explain to her with the back up camera I had her in my sights all the way. She still wasn't happy.

I'm wondering just how "real" a lot of the builds on many of the car shows are. Kindig built a '66 Nova a couple of seasons ago and it was up for auction within a couple of years. This past weekend at Barrett Jackson a Mustang California Special that was on Fantom Works went to auction within a couple of years of being built with just 300 miles on it. -
Not a happy camper right now. I've been watching Homeland on Netflix and patiently waiting for the final season to arrive. Apparently the competition here CraveTV bought the exclusive rights to the final season.

Anyone watched Ratched? Looks like it's based on the character Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.
