  1. I have more of a time warp thing going on. I go to the workbench for what I swear is only 20 minutes but when I come out 4 hours has elapsed on the clocks.
  2. Police broke up a 500 car show near here last night for exceeding limits placed on public gatherings due to Covid. They're looking for the organizers and ready to fine them. That's $10,000 minimum as of yesterday.
  3. They'll have to find something to break even, they've spent millions.
  4. My experienced is much like Tom's. Had one years ago, really only bothered me in bright sunlight. Optometrist said she could see it and at some point it just floated away.
  5. This work sounds like it is being done within the limits of the municipal road allowance. People are often surprised to find out that "their" property doesn't extend as far as the side walk or roadway, it is often several feet behind either of them. For example the municipality where I reside on a residential street the limit of the road allowance is generally four feet behind the side walk. That provides a good place for underground utilities to be placed between the walk and where "my" property begins. I would check the paperwork for the house, perhaps a survey of the property has been done at some time and is attached to it or perhaps one may be on file at the local registry office. Those doing the work may even stake the property line when they begin the project.
  6. Not to my knowledge, I just use it as a comparable.
  7. Season 4 of Ozark will be longer at 14 episodes split in two halves I believe and will be the final season. I've been watching Stranger Things, it's kind of Buffy The Vampire Slayer meets E.T. Season 1 was pretty good but so far season 2 hasn't been. The young girl the story revolves around is excellent.
  8. You want to buy the house next door to the Goodwill store. You donate everything to them and they pick it all up at your current residence and take it to their store. Then when you're at the new residence you only have to go next door to buy back the stuff you really want. ?
  9. Aquarius - Don't waste your time unless you really, really, really like David Duchovny's smart aleck ways. I only watched because Michaela McManus was in it. Ozark - Very good, often compared to Breaking Bad. Language can be a bit much but some of it is kind of humorous. Manhunt Unabomber - The story has been told hundreds of times but I would recommend just watching episode 3. The profiler meets a linguistics grad student and she schools him on linguistics and Idiolect in regards to the bombers manifesto. Longmire - Initial seasons were on A&E I believe and Netflix came in and completed the story. Set in modern day Wyoming and has some Cheyenne mythology weaved into the story line.
  10. Pretty much business as usual for me as I tend to keep to myself most of the time anyway. Only hardship has been not seeing family at Easter and having to go 15 weeks without a haircut. The Province is slowly reopening erring on the side of caution and so far so good. People here have been very respectful wearing masks and keeping distance with the exception of the occasional hipster. The supply chain at the grocery stores was a little dodgy at the beginning but they seem to have caught up with the demand now. Some of their changes I'd like to see remain even after the pandemic. The one way aisles and families sending just one designated shopper makes it easy on everyone. The stores have even converted this once cash shopper to debit and credit.
  11. They appear to be a hard plastic that has a groove cut in the center lengthwise and three grooves from side to side. Depending on what you're working on you may want to consider some sort of padding. Personally I use a piece of that 1mm thick packing foam cut to size. Thick enough to give you some cushion but not so thick that the groove details disappear.
  12. It'll open up about 7 1/2". That's an AMT 1/25 Vanishing Point Challenger chassis in the picture.
  13. Apologies if one of these has been posted before. Saw it on another site and thought it was pretty cool. It's a circuit board holder but does a decent job of being a second pair of hands.
  14. Without testing they don't know what the rate of infection is. The fear is that if unchecked it could become 25% to 30% of the population. With a mortality rate of 1% (10x that of the flu) it becomes a very big number. So in the U.S. 25% of 330 million is over 82 million people which could lead to over 800,000 deaths.
  15. Anything Joe Bonamassa covers is generally really good. "Pretending"
  16. Do the rear slicks really stick out beyond the body as shown on the box?
  17. Didn't realize just how intrusive the auto start/stop technology would be on my new vehicle. People say "you will get used to it" but 4 months later I'm still fighting it. If you actually pay attention to when it shuts off and when it doesn't you soon come to the realization that it just doesn't make any sense. I don't care how many parameters it measures in deciding when to stop, simply randomly guessing would be as effective.
  18. I also have a smaller, portable work surface. I've taken a board with a finished surface to use as a work surface and clamped that board into a Dremel clamping table. The clamping table then get clamped into a B&D Workmate. Perfect height for me to stand at.
  19. I reconfigured my bench so that I can either sit or stand. Lighting at two heights, magnification at two heights and vise/clamping at two heights. I probably stand more than I sit. Don't have a back problem, just thought it might be a healthier way to go.
  20. Keep in mind where the seller is willing to ship to. While there can be cheaper costing items out there, does the seller ship to the buyers country? As a Canadian I've had to pay more to someone that ships worldwide over an American that only ships lower 48.
  21. "How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?" Satchel Paige
  22. Might depend on where the bidders are from. Could be that the kit being auctioned ships worldwide and the cheaper "buy it now" kit doesn't ship to the purchasers country.
  23. I just move on to the next listing.
