  1. Got Married? Wait, that was the smartest.... Convinced her that getting married in LaJolla would be the perfect place.... Oh yeah, there's a show in San Fran, NNL West, we can just stop by there first :-) :-) that was way back, what, 1995 or so? man oh man....
  2. Welcome to the dark side... Now you will never go back to the big ones...
  3. We all have our opinions, but to bash other's opinions, is going to get you banned, and kicked out of this forum. As for my two cents (I expect some change back please), I think the hobby will grow in ways that none of us ever imagined. I have seen some of the new work by our friends Tim and the others here that do that 3D modeling/printing (sorry if other names slipped by me right now), and the quality has gotten better and better it seems every month. Sure, the price is high right now, but the possibilities will be endless. As for the video games, I hope that they are bringing in modelers, and this is something I will pursue. I just got hold of a PS3 Gran Turismo 5, and I want to build some of the cars in my garage now! There are some awesome rides there, and I hope that I can bring others into our hobby this way. The PS3 is something I can do when I am down for the count (which is most of the days now), and it does give me inspiration to look for new models to build. With that, I have seen some great new companies popping up, with some diverse and unique subject matters being produced. You'll have to wait for the printed reviews to see what I'm talking about. So, in closing, keep this civil. We all have opinions, and we/you have to learn to respect them, and treat them as you would like your opinions to be treated. Unless you are just looking for a fight, then, mi pana, you are in the wrong place.
  4. GEORGE!!!!!!!
  5. Sorry you felt it was a joke. I swear by this stuff now, and I use it for almost everything now. I have stripped over 20 bodies so far, and it's still going strong. It may take a bit longer, maybe a few hours more than when I first started, but it's worth it. So, no, it's not a joke. When I do an April Fools, it's a whole lot bigger than that!!!!! Next year, for sure.... Right, Harry? :-)
  6. Darryl will be there, I know, not the same.... Danno, but Newark I get a lay-flat seat!!!!!!!
  7. Unfortunately, I won't make it again this year. I will miss all my friends, and this hopefully will be the last year I miss any more big shows. Greg Nichols and Doug Whyte will be shooting pics again for MCM this year, so watch for them. Hopefully everyone will still have their name badges that I made a while ago to wear at the show. Have a great time my friends!!! a hui ho
  8. FaceBook for me is a marketing tool. I post some new covers there, or new projects I am working on, pay for some of the outrageous FaceBook Ads, and that's about it. I don't see it having any negative effect on this forum, or any others. I see the opposite effect, if any. It's a tool, that if used wisely, can be a great way to get new people into our hobby Yes, we have drama, but every family does, right?
  9. You must have missed the 8 pages I did in July 2011 issue covering the BIGGEST show, GSL. Oh, did you want me to run it again, charge you twice? All the big shows that I go to (or went to, since travel is basically off limits for now) are put in the mag usually the next issue. With a full story, not just captions. As for the photos that are sent in, we run what we are given, and if there are only four photos that are good enough for print quality, then that's what we have. Plus, a lot of times, builders don't bring their models up to be photographed at a lot of the shows. Yes, I try to make as many people happy as I can, sometimes it doesn't work out that way. There's more to it than meets the eye, and we do the best that we can with what we are given. You want to see more shows? Send in the photos from your show, or get some guys together and work on being part of our national band of merry photo-takers. I will be putting more resources up on the main site for photos and contest/show info, like spec sheets, photo guidelines, etc.
  10. Still working on getting MCM into the mainstream. Contracts are out, waiting for the terms, numbers, etc. I was hoping by May/June, have to see in next week or so.
  11. I will try to find that sheet they sent. It's around here somewhere Say what you will, I have been using it a lot lately, and I love it!!! I will order some more for sure.
  12. I found a page there in the help side that says I can convert my personal page to a business page, which will lose all my messages, etc. I think that's fine, since I want the mag to be the main feature. Hopefully in the next few days it will get migrated into a new biz page, and everything should work good. I'll post more here when pau
  13. Likes have to do with impressions. Not the type of impressions that we are used to, but the whole new social media network has created a whole new v dictionary of words and meanings. Likes and then the impressions equate to more advertising opportunities and hopefully revenue. Like I said, it's a whole new ball game out there Sorry for any typos, doing this on iPad
  14. Wow! I am impressed guys! Over 4,000 Likes on FaceBook! Now, if only I could get someone from FaceBook to answer a question. I wanted to turn the MCM FaceBook page into the main page, but it won't let me because I have a personal page also. Don't want to lose what is already there. Any of you social network guys know anything about this?

  16. Mention Model Cars Magazine if you could. They don't advertise anymore, but maybe a bit of gentle hint hint hint might help? Thanks!!!! I could spend a fortune in their catalog!!!
  17. Those are the German Okrasa hop up carbs
  18. More this morning. Probably use the stock Cadi hub caps, Bob Dudek headlight buckets.
  19. I posted here (I thunk) before, and it will be in the MCM What's New. It's from Model Expo. It went all the around the body, even the hood, no wrinkle, crinkle, or dinkle. I cleared over it to lock it down though. It is super dooper sticky. Keep them in their baggies, they pick up dust easy.
  20. Finally got around to putting the pinstripping tape around the belt line. I went with chrome, don't know why. Looks okay, I guess Tried to put some clear down today, finally had some clear weather (pun intended...)
  21. The photos are HUGE!!! 1.6MB for each one!!! Can try and resize them, and see what happens. I think limit is 2GB, or something I will recheck settings. Nice photos!
  22. e komo mai, Eric! Did you keep any of your old builds? Enjoy the forum, and don't be afraid to ask any questions. (e komo mai= welcome in Hawaiian)
