Jason, please send me the Ferrari. It needs a home here in Hawai'i... I promise I'll be good to it. Excellant job! It's one of those projects that's been on the too-do list for way too long!

For me, The Maz, of course. Didn't see who it was by at first. But then, should have known that.

This is the kind of story I would love to see in that, cough, cough, ahem, "magazine" we had talked about before. If could come up with about six months of these, I would say it's a go Still think about it all the time.

When I use to race bikes, back in the '70s, my friend and mentor Chuck Teixeira was the best bike builder around. He went on to become an incredible engineer in the bicycle industry, and he and his son built a four-door Merc. So, check out the Goodguys' page, and see if you agree with me that this father and son build is the best on the page. They did everything themselves. https://www.good-guys.com/tb-voting Thanks guys. I know Chuck will appreciate it too. (in case you need a hint, it's the blue flamed Merc in the second row, #6 :-)) Gregg

Improved Lighting & Magnification Options?
Gregg replied to nitrojunkie's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
The best one I have found is from Office Depot http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/420036/Realspace-Clamp-On-Magnifier-Task-Lamp/ I bought two already I usually end up drilling a ½" hole in the desk, to give it a more sturdy mount than the stock clamp. The clamp works, it's just that I have broken one before. I got mine on sale, it was like $30 in store. -
The search feature is terrible! It don't like short word/number searches I tried to get the dedicated Google search thingee, but they wanted $$$ for it. Will see if they have alternatives now. thingee... I know, .....

'66-'77 Early Ford Bronco Resin Kit
Gregg replied to Gregg's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Mike, after all the work, time, money, effort, etc. that I put into EMC, no one wants to use it, I give up on it. Probably will let it just lapse and forget about it. I tried my best to make it work, and no one, besides a very few, (thanks to those who did help, I think you were one of them, Mike), but I have to move on. -
'66-'77 Early Ford Bronco Resin Kit
Gregg replied to Gregg's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The first ones (first five) are up on eBay. Hopefully this will draw some interest and then the second half of the project can begin. http://www.ebay.com/itm/291008164609?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 -
Well, they are finally here! After 12+ years, the old Cheez-Cast '66-'77 Ford Bronco resin kits are available once again! The first five kits will be sold on eBay, as auction-types of items. The rest of the First Editions (of 50), will be selling for $50, plus $5 shipping/handling. The web site http://www.ResinBronco.com should have all the ordering information on it very soon. They will be drop shipped straight from the resin manufacturer, so the there should be a short turn around time (we are hoping for a one-two week time frame at the most). Thanks so much for all of your interest, patience, and support with this endeavor. This is a curbside kit, no motor, and at this time, no rims or tires. A good donor kit is the Revell/Monogram '80 Ford Bronco kit, for the rims and tires. I have started modifying the prototype, changing around the dash, and some of the interior.

My Paint Storage Solution

David Ferguson did a great article back in 2006 on this also: PaintRack.pdf -
Does anyone have any idea how the concept and/or perameters of Google Ad Sense works? Does anyone know how to tweak the codes, add campaigns that are geared to what you are working on, make sure that the relevant ads and/or sites can be betted before they are allowed to use the ads? Does anyone know how to set up a dedicated server, along with all the settings, profiles, zones, etc. that is involved with running your own dedicated server? I think not. I am doing the best I can, with Dave's help, and it's a steep learning curve. All I hear, except from Mr. Evan's southern hospitality, is nothing but complaints, complaints, and complaints. Anyone have an extra three grand a year they want to spend on running this? I think not. Thanks, James. It's a learning curve I'm trying to get a hold of and grasp.

From what I understand, the reason why there is so many dash cams in Russia is to prove fault in accidents. I guess this happens so much, the dash cam is your only "insurance" as to who did what or didn't do, at the time of these incredible accidents. I have watched dozens if not hundreds of these Russian dash cam YouTube videos. It amazes me as to the survival rate of the people involved. And the luck... Amazing.

Forum e-mails, Notifications, Etc.
Gregg posted a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I had mentioned this before, but I'll cover it again. The forum/web site was moved to a completely new server, and as such, everything has changed, from the mail servers, to the site certificates, cookies, etc. What this means is no, you don't have to sign in again, create a new account, or what not. You probably have to clear your cookies, and then accept the new ones when they are provided. If you use blocking software, you will have to add modelcarsmag.com to your safe or whitelist. This also goes for your email. You may not be getting email notifications now from the forum, or so you think. They are probably now filtered by your email, IP, hosting provider, or other such spam, cookie, or other filtering program. You will need to check your SPAM, Junk Mail, or other such area in either your email program, or if you use a web-based email system/program, check the SPAM/Junk Mail/Bulk Mail folders for the emails from the forum/web site, and then add those to your "safe" or trusted emails/web sites. The certificate for the forum/web site has changed, and it needs, or your computer needs, to know that it's from a legitimate source, again. I have put the required/requested processes in place to have the rdns and other mail protocols set up to accept the new server as a good/trusted one. They said it would take 24-48 hours, and that was a couple of days ago, so hopefully it should all be working now. If this all sounds greek, or geek, to you, don't worry, it's worse to me.... I am learning along the way, and with David's patience with me, we are getting things done. It's a really good learning experience, and it's been pretty neat to learn how this thing actually works behind the scenes. I give a huge hat's off to all you computer IT guys that are laughing at me now, I never had any idea of the brain cells needed to do what you guys do. So, check your SPAM/JUNK/Bulk Mail folders, and see if the emails are there. You may have to dwell deeper in your settings if the emails still don't come through. I do get the email notifications, so I know it works on my end, on a Mac. For a PC, I'm lost.... -
I am impressed with not only the work, but the photography as well

Did you send to Oscar? I love it!!!!

I received a nasty email from someone I could barely understand saying that some of these photos/images in this post/thread were "stolen" from him. He called the person a "thief". I really have no idea what this person is saying. He did call me crazy though. I guess he knows me well....

To me, a Profesional Builder, or anyone claiming to be a "Professional" should make his living entirely from his "Profession." He should, by right, be legal, in the sense that if he is such a professional, then he pays his taxes, reports all of his "Professional" income, and thus, has earned the right to call himself, or herself, a Professional. Anything else, is just smoke billowing out of an egotistical, narcissist, inflated self-endulging personality disorder builder, or other such lovely terms I can come up with orifice or as the case may be, keyboard. If you are a professional, act like it. Pay your taxes. File your forms. Due your due diligence with regard to local laws, rules, requirements, and then you can be a professional too. k, I pau... -

Luis, link no good. I too would love to see a 510 wagon. JIMMY!!!!!!! -
I had a tree of shiny chrome door handles, and they are/were my favorite metal parts that were ever made. I can't remember who made them. I'm think SELtd. (Scale Equipment Ltd), but I could be wrong. If I find them, I'll take some pics in the studio and post them. They were/are gorgeous.

That Nova looks familiar. I think I saw it in member's gallery before. I always, always, always spray a light coat or two of Tamiya semi gloss clear over any two-tone paint job tape up. Always. Even in my body shop days I did this, and that was way back in what, early '80s?

I am pretty sure only the moderators, admin, and the Root Admin (moi) can see your IP address. I may be wrong. Danno, correct me if you can see the IP in any posts. As for the location with the IP, I can see in a general location where you are at, but it does not pinpoint the house, or the street, sometimes it's not even close. It just gives me an idea of the general area where somewhere is when they register. If someone says in their profile that they are in Bronx, NY, but then when the IP lookup runs, and they are in China, or somewhere else, I will delete the registration, block the IP (and the grouping of the IP (like 72.384.*, instead of 72.384.235.110). Once in a while, and it does not happen often, only once so far, someone will try to register "legally" with that IP range. Phew, my brain cell.... All other information is what you put in the registration. The databases are pretty secure, I have had some attempted hacks recently, and I will be adding some more changes to some things to help that out. Nothing has been compromised,it's just bots trying to log in. Nothing to worry about. My rule of thumb is that if you haven't done anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about. If you use a proxy server, you can't use the forum. That has caused problems before, and I don't accept or allow any proxy server registrations. I am also looking at some extra hooks (programs) that will add some more layers of security with registration, having to do with duplicate IP's and what not. k. brain cell again, overloading. Hope this info helps. If you are really concerned about your privacy, IP, and what not, send me an email (not PM). k den, I pau...

1/12 Porsche 935
Gregg replied to mitchell's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
Calling Mr. Johnson!!!! Mitchel, if you haven't seen Pete Johnson's build, you should do a quick search for it, or maybe he'll be Mr. Nice and send you some links. You are doing a great job! Hopefully you will get some of us inspired to start working on our own ones. I have two to finish: Hawaiian Tropic (of course), and a street version of the car, 934? I think? All black, or maybe my favorite Lambo Orange, or ??? Sorry, I degress. I'm glad they reissued it with the photoetch. Makes me wish I could get some more of them.
