  1. Since David Thibodeau is doing the full kit review/build of the new 1/12 Mustang Shelby GT500 in that gorgeous blue, I thought I would do mine in mean and nasty black with the white stripes. I know, more projects! But with more "free time" now thanks to Romell, I can work on the builds, and the mag, without having to babysit anymore.
  2. There is/was a mobile phone skin that works, or I should say worked before. I tried it with the Ipod Touch, and was able to view the forum, sans a lot of the bells and whistles
  3. Trying to get caught up on the projects. Here is the convertible in paint: Tamiya Green Pearl
  4. Thanks, Art. Hopefully this will be a great seller, and a boost to our hobby.
  5. John, your work, inspiration, and true love of this hobby, and the people in it, always amazes me. Don't let anyone get you down with their negative comments or any dissing. We are seeing that a lot here, and we will probably always have it. But, that's the way of the Internet. Now, my two cents. The only thing that stands out on the Vette that I don't like how it came out was the windows. I wish there was an easy way to make them flush-mounted. I know our good friend Bill Geary did an article on creating scale windows before, but I wish there was a real easy way to make flush-mounted windows. My thoughts are to make a clay buck from the body, and then vacuum form clear windows, or something like that. Thoughts, ideas? Great job, John, and yes, I would have changed the color also. I love the colors available from Jameston at ScaleFinishes.com
  6. David, I am having problems with the front white stripe from the front grille to the lower part of the front grille. Did you have problems too?
  7. Heh guys. I was going through some stuff the other day and I pulled out my old Carrera track sets. I had bought two of the sets, one the Le Mans Champs and the other was the Blacktop Racers, for a great deal some time ago. I have got a few 1/24 and 1/32 scale cars, mostly Scaletrix, Carrera, and now my favorite, the Monogram new ones. I love it! It's easy to get hooked in this and I hope others will as well. I love Tom's track, I would like to do that one day, space permitting. Right now it's in the living room floor, to see how big it would be. I have probably 10 more straightaways extra, but no turns left. I run all the cars, 1/24 and 1/32 on the Carrera track, with no problems. I don't think I would go to digital, unless I win that lottery one day.
  8. Thanks, Lee. I didn't notice that. Probably with the new update the other day. Harry will probably want to work his magic on it though. Still trying to find new skins that will work well with the new upgrade. They said to wait until all the bugs were worked out.
  9. I have become very fond of ScaleFinishes. I thought Jameston's are acrylic lacquers. http://www.scalefinishes.com/use.html
  10. It's really not a database, more of just web pages, photo galleries, and such. I don't have a listing yet of the articles and their corresponding numbers yet. Still working on that page on the main site. But then, after thinking, it's more of a plus for the readers. Those who get the magazine, know where to go to for the extra stories. You guys got me thinking more....
  11. Welcome Tim! I'm glad you found the site through a search, it just goes to show everyone that the forum is doing what we wanted it to do: bring people back into the hobby! Enjoy your stay here, and don't mind the bugs that are going on with the major updates and upgrades to the forum.
  12. Rich, do you want me to merge your old account into this one?
  13. Rob, do you have a pic of the box? I have the old MPC one, but it's more like a toy in my unhumble opinion
  14. Very nice work, as usual, David!!!
  15. Come on you guys. I have explained this I don't know how many times. It's the power of six. It has to do with how many subs are in the zip code drop zone area, and if it's less than six, they get bagged together with others in the next drop zone up the ladder. If there's still less than six in that bag, it goes up one more level, to a bigger drop zone, and so forth.
  16. I agree. The photographs of GSL were the best ever. They should give that photographer a raise.... and more drugs!!!! Thanks, Harry for all your hard work, dedication, support, and belief in me and the mag. I really do appreciate it. And Jairus, it's all your fault We have come a long way!
  17. Mr. Mendoza, I have a question. I see on the back of the Chevy truck bed cover you have the same cracking in the paint I have had lately. Do you know why it did that? Great variety of builds. That 300 in the garage looks real! That first shot of the Charger is one of the best vantage points shot of a model I have seen in a while!!!
  18. Joe, I like this build Only wish you would use the good camera instead of the HTC for the whole build
  19. I'm totally lost
  20. You can also try Command 0 to reset the screen size
  21. Hang on to your horses while glitches and problems with the forum are sorted out. There was a server down today, and that's back up and running. We may have to do another upgrade, but it's something you won't see at all I won't be able to eat for a month though. Good thing we get choke rice in the cupboard.....
  22. See if Control and the - key works on the PC, Command and the - key on the Mac To make it bigger, Control and = key, Command and = key for Mac
  23. Good points here, especially on trade section. I will go through that. I don't want to delete any old posts, did that once, by mistake, and hated myself for doing that. I want to archieve the goods for the main site, and have that as the main place to go. Skip, what do you mean the search is junk? I thought it was/is doing a good job, no?
  24. One thing I have noticed is that when a reply is made to a topic, and the only thing in the reply is a smiley face, icon, or one word, please do me a favor, and let's curb doing that. There's a couple of reasons, but I'll try to make this simple. When you reply with a or something like that, It does place a load on the servers, although it may seem like it doesn't take up that much space or room, but every reply to a topic loads the server. It doesn't matter how big the reply is, it registers as a reply, and thus it makes everything else work because of it. Sorry to get picky on this, but it will help those who look at New Content, without having to go through and see a happy face instead of a discussion on the topic. Thanks, and hope everyone understands
