  1. This is an old body/master that I got years ago from the purchase of a company I bought (Lightning Model Detail Products). It was a funky-style of custom. Never did cast it. I want to see what you guys could come up with in Photoshop. Who knows, maybe your creation will make it to a production mold!!!
  2. Hate to get everyone excited, but this may finally happen: Bronco It's been something I have been pursuing since 2002. We'll see what happens in the next few months.
  3. I thought it worked before I know I have a problem with RSS some sites with the browsers. I'll check the admin side.
  4. I just saw them in Micro Mark's catalog
  5. Harry, I don't know why the link doesn't open in new window. The CP (control panel) is set that way, but it doesn't open in new window. The parts as stated in the heading of the photos are of all the different parts than those in the Hardtop kit For the hardtop pics, see the earlier post/thread. The rear chrome taillight panel only difference is that there is no crest in the center of the gas cap. Go figure!!!
  6. Makes me want to build the one on the shelf now: that black is stunning, and the red interior looks great as well. I'd love to see some studio shots of the black one
  7. Can you post pics of the reference cars as well?
  8. Pic from Web Site Review
  9. Actually, I have to disagree with you on this point. I have never let an "advertiser" dictate what is said here on the forum. Now, look at the quotes: "advertiser" I am being vague, on purpose. I do not review any product that I have not had in my hands, ever. I try to give leeway to others who do their best to give MCM the broad base that we have, and Mark Taylor has done a great job on being as unbiased as he can be, and he tells it like it is. Yes, it's not good business sense to let readers, or members of this forum, to bash paying advertisers. If there is a problem with an advertiser's product, or services, then that problem should be dealt with between the two involved. Sometimes, I do get emails or am cc'd on emails, and am asked to intercede. Fortunately, I have never had to put the hammer down, and I am very proud of the way that any "problems" with advertisers have been resolved. You can also see that my advertisers are very small in numbers. Yes, I keep a very tight control on this, and this is what makes MCM different. No, I'm not a control freak, it's just the way I have done this for over twelve years now, and it works. I like the fact that this topic can be discussed in the open, and I really appreciate everyone's honest, open, and civilized responses (so far). mahalo nui loa
  10. From the post before on the new format for the site, the photo review of the T-Bird is at: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/Reviews/A682
  11. Here's the link to the photos of the new Convertible '64 Falcon from Trumpeter: 64 Falcon Convertible Pictures
  12. Randy, amazing, truly amazing. Did we ever meet in person when I was there in CO?
  13. This is a test of the new Gallery and online features we will be doing on the main web site. Randy Derr's award winning Sprint Car is shown here, shot in the Model Cars Magazine photo booth at GSL, in Salt Lake City, April 30, 2011: Randy Derr Sprint Car Hopefully, this will work. It will be a number based system, like you would see in MacWorld and other magazines. Say you want to see a photo review of a new kit, like a brand new Revell Yugo, it would be the site (www.modelcarsmag.com), then the kit number, say for example it's 85-2000, the review would the last four, 2000 so the site would be: modelcarsmag.com/2000 this is only an example Don't click the 2000, there's nothing there Or maybe I should make a spoof page, .... too much meds..... Randy's page works (I hope) I hope this system will work. Oh, yeah, for reviews of other kits, that are only three numbers, like AMT, etc., it would be: A200, or something like that There will be references in the print articles I'm getting there.....
  14. I have deleted some of the posts that I know will cause some problems. Enough said. Let's welcome our new friend from South Africa and his first build here on the MCM Forum. ENOUGH SAID e komo mai
  15. We should hide the topic and save it for April Fools next year in the magazine!!!
  16. No humidity? What dat? It is always, and I mean always 70-80% here. And temp is usually always 80 or so, if not more. You can always spray with a different temp thinner, ie slower or faster, if cure times are off. I wish I could spray in the house, get an old cardboard box, spray it with light coat of water to settle the dust, and shoot away! One good trick is to get those food dehydrators and use them to dry the paint with. I did an article way back when on converting one, and it has been brought up here many times.
  17. e komo mai (welcome) I too like the GTR Like the yellow wheel accents Very nice I hope you enjoy the forum, learn a lot, and make a ton of new friends welcome to our ohana (family)
  18. Once I get things straightened out, that will be part of the main Model Cars web site I know, I hope no one is holding their breath....
  19. I hate to bring this up (I didn't read all six pages of comments yet, so I may have missed it), but for the past 100 issues, Wayne Moyer has been bringing us our Collector's Corner since day one! What, wait, 100 issues? You mean you have done 100 issues already, and there was no big fanfare, no headline splash on the top of the magazine claiming to be number one? Nope Nada Just 100 issues of your favorite model car magazine, by builders, and collectors, of anything automotive, be it cars, bikes, trucks, vans, plastic, metal, resin, even PAPER!!!! Terry, thanks for your thread on this, and your opinion is appreciated. MCM is about model cars, and that covers a lot We did that great feature on the Franklin Mint/Danbury Mint rebuilds just a few issues ago, Jeff Koch has done a few diecast pieces, we have some Hot Wheels pieces coming up, and more diverse subjects, and materials, in the works. I can't please all the people all the time. That's a given. But I do the best I can. Harry knows and has a great feel for the mag, and I just his judgment on this as well. I even had slot cars in MCM in the beginning, under Model Car Racing. So, I guess we can say this is pau, yes? mahalo nui loa and watch for more interesting and different model cars coming soon. Yes, even some more paper ones too!
  20. I wish I could take credit for at least some of it... but I can't. I hate to say it, but it's out of my hands now... and that's a good thing!!!! Harry has been busting okole on the mag, and it is finally getting to be where it should be at. Here's a sneak peak at the May/June cover: Now, is there a doctor in the house (that can fix me!!!!)? Wait till you see Dr. Cranky's book too! Thanks, Harry. And Jairus And Chuck And Mark And Larry And Bill And Wayne And Tim And Tim And Dennis And Keeler And William (jabill) And Ken And Sherri And Auggie And Joe and of course, KELLY
  21. Would I need snow boots, parka, and thermals?
