Very nice work Tommy!!!!

Good Luck on the build. The big problem with this kit is that the interior is an aftermarket rolled and pleated job. When I built mine, I scratchbuilt a replica stock interior for mine. My dad had a '60 Bonneville convertible, just like my signature car, except that I added a set of 8-lug wheels from the Modelhaus, which are better than the ones in the kit.

David, that is beautiful!!!! I was rooting through the basement the other week, and I came across my old built-up '82, which I did some "period" customization to it. It looks like I have all of the parts to it so far, except the T-Top panels, even though I have not gotten to the box it came in. Since I do not have another set of "Collector Series" Decals, I may have to do a "Standard" '82 Corvette. I have a set of the Aluminum Wheels from a derelict '78 built-up attempt. I also looked at my '78, and I may scuff the paint a little, and add a few coats of Black, and polish it out.

As one who grew up with Dad's '72 and '74, you are very close with that '75/'76. Personally, I would work a little on the grille, and "A" pillars. Hit me off the board for an exact analysis. I am very familiar with the car, and yes I want one when it goes to casting.

You know where I stand, Bill. -
That's the way that kit should look. Beautiful!!!!

I just found my '75 Gremlin yesterday. I have to compare it with the "new" '76 kit.

RETRO REVIEW- AMT '69 Lincoln Continental Annual
Ron Hamilton replied to Chuck Most's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Chuck, your build is exquisite. My Dad had a White on Red '66 Sedan, which I am going to do a model of. I love those old Lincolns too. I have all of them, except for the '68 Sedan, and the '64 Convertible, which I sold off. I did build a couple though. Let's cruise, Chuck.1967 1961 -
The contour of the windshield is a little too rounded, otherwise this casting is right on the money. I have a '70 300, which I will fix that upper windshield when I build it. This is the direction I want to take my build. I cannot wait to see the direction of the gasser, though, as it looks to be coming together nicely.

I buy and sell a lot on Ebay. To me, that looks like a case of misrepresentation at the least, judging from the photographs. A body ruined that bad should have been photographed and disclosed. I would seek a return and a refund, and use my time on something more worthy.

I am really enjoyng this one. The attention to detail is fantastic, and I have always been a fan of Wally Booth.

You did a wonderful job on this one. I agree with all of your comments concerning the AmT '67 Camaro tooling. I built one years ago, and modified the daylights out of it. Now, I have a couple of the original AMT '67 Camaros to work over, one a pace car, and the second, who knows?

`70 Chevelle Pro Street, 80`s style - another quickie

Tom, If you are going to do either a '74 Malibu Classic, or Laguna S-3, I suggest that you do the swivel bucket seat interior, using parts from the Revell 1977 Monte Carlo. The seat stitch pattern on the '73 Malibu is different from the '74 Malibu Classic, and Laguna S-3. http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/Chevrolet/1974_Chevrolet/1974_Chevrolet_Chevelle_Brochure/dirindex.html

Dave, Thanks for the offer. I'm quite sure that those T-Top panels are in my basement somewhere. I found my original '78's hood and air cleaner with the '82. I have a few unbuilt large scale madels in my collection, as well as the ones I did back in the day. I have an '82 Z28 that may be resurrected as the pace car. I originally built it as a Black car with silver ground effects. I have not seen it in about 15 years. I did take a look at my Turbo Trans AM, and I hope to save the paint on it, as I like the color (Dark Green Metallic w/Gold Graphics and a Beige Hobnail Interior), and I do not want to lose the graphics. I just need the space to display them. I really enjoyed building the 1/16 scale, 1/12 scale and the 1/8 scale models. I have a Harley Electra Glide Ultra under construction. I just have to figure out how to paint the wheels properly, and add a set of whitewall tires. I'm going to painit it either Black, Dark Green Pearl, or Burgundy Pearl, with Gold graphics. Can you imagine what the cost of an 1/8 scale kit would be if the manufacturer put some real detail in them? The old Monogram kits were nice, but had some toy-like details. I really liked the '65 Corvette, as I got one for xmas in 1966. I have one which needs re-building, which I built when I was in college in the '70's. I would like to get a set of American 5-spokes for it, and clean up the Pactra Candy Red paint on it. Your builds are fantastic, and I would love to see what you do with the Interior on this one.

Dave, I like where you are going on this project. I remember that color combination. One of the techs at the dealership I worked at had a 2 tone red one that was stunning. I sold a few "shark" Corvettes back in the day when they were new. I built a couple of the 1/8 scale Vettes back in the day. As a matter of fact, I found an old built-up of a '82 Collectors Edition in my basement, which was surprisingly complete, except that I cannot find the T-Top panels right now, and it's a bit dusty. I painted it a non factory color combination, that I actually like, and I may restore it, even though I will strip the exterior paint, and repaint it in a different color, and lose the gold accents I put on it. One of my old bosses gave me a started '78 kit, that will give me the parts I need in the event I want to backdate it to an '80 or '81. I know you will do this one justice, as you have done the others. Ron
