Years ago, I opened the hood on an AMT 1964 Plymouth Valiant Signet. And added an engine and chassis detail from the AMT 71 Duster 340. I dressed the engine like a 273 Power Pak. I had to shorten the chassis about 3/16", and remove the floor from the interior tub. I plan to do the same with the 65 Barracuda I have ro rebuild.

Back in the late 1980s, I belonged to a model club, where there were several accomplished builders. A couple of them built a couple of interesting chopped AMT 49 Mercury Coupes. One of them knew my building style, and flatly told me that I could not accomplish the building of an aestihcally correct one. Meanwhile, I was looking through some magaz, and saw a Joe Ballion Tutorial on how to fo a one-to-one car. I did mine based on how he did his car. I think it came out great. I may do another

I really like that. I remember building one of those in 1969. Believe it or not, I have one of those as a current project. I'm working on. I added the Air Conditioner to the 430, and adding detail to the interior.

Looking for ET Crosswire wheels
Ron Hamilton replied to fyreline's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The wheels in the 1979-80 MPC Chevrolet Monte Carlo are veryclose. -
I bought one of those 4 bangers to do just that.

I had a loaded Black and Silver 1981 for a company demonstrator. It was quite a gas hog, and fortunately it got sold within a week of my receiving it. I have several 3D printed grilles, and a very nice set of 15" Aluminum factory styled wheels, but I may go with something else from the aftermarket. Everything is dependent on the fit of the 3D goods I have. I'm quite sure the kit will be first rate.

I had some bench seat sets from the AMT 66 Nova cast in resin for a two door Sedan project. I also have a LS engine, and a resin cowl hood, and a AMT 66 Nova Pro Street Chassis for the project. I've been watching too much Iron Resurrection.

I bought all three of the Galaxie Chevrolet kits and haven't built any of them yet, even though I looked at them, and was impressed with the quality of them, and ones I've seen built by good modelers were fantastic. I want to trick out all three mildly with appropriate lowering, wheels, tires, and paint. If we get a Fleetline with the wood grain panels, I'm in for one, as well as another Sedan Delivery to mate with one of Best Products excellent station wagon transkits.

I have an unbuilt one in the basement Very Brittle. I may see if I can get the body, grille and hood cast in resin in the event I decide to build it. Those parts are superior to the AMT kit.

I consider you a good friend, and your builds are excellent and well thought out. I'll eventually return to the meeting.

Cadillac 1948 Club Coupe 1:25 RED WHEEL Unboxing
Ron Hamilton replied to Bill Eh?'s topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
It looks great. Reminds me of the car that was built for Earl Campbell by Extensive in Houston. If I built one, I would trick it out., even though a dark colored one factory stock would be pretty elegant. -
Absolutely beautiful!

Excellent work by a true artist!

I bought the kit, and it does have the C stripe Decals. When i built this version as a XL/GT Convertible, i wanted to use the gold C stripes from Keith Marks, but they disintegrated, so i left the stripes off of my build. However, it will now get its stripes in white, as the latest version of the kit has both black and white C Stripes. Thank You Round 2. The wheelcovers came from Missing Link Resin, where i modified the centers to look more like the Ford Wheelcovers.

While the incorrect grilles in the kits were not a deal breaker for me, these grilles are a welcome addition for the appropriate kits. They are very well done. I didn't mention the wheel sets in the first post. They are scaled out to 21 x9 in the front, and 22 X 12 in the rear, with low profile tires, with each of the three hubcap styles offered by Mobieus on their 67 through 69 Ford/Mercury F100 kits. These wheels are very well done in my opinion. If you are into this style of wheel and tire set, go get them before they're gone.

New Moebius ramp truck coming soon
Ron Hamilton replied to Mr mopar's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
The original Mobieus Ford Ramp Truck was a 1967. This one is a 1969. -
1967 Drawing 1968/69 Standard Grille on body. Note the correct size headlamp doors. It comes in bare resin, and can be painted white for the base truck, or your favorite plated finish for the uplevel trucks. 1968/69 Ranger. Note the crisp cener emblem. 1967 Standard and Ranger The grilles look great, and use the kit's headlamp and parking lamp lenses. For now, the grilles are available at the ZForce website.

I bought one when the kit first came out. To me, the wheels were the only turnoff. However with the availability of 3D printed wheels and other accessories such as an excellent manual transmission, this fine kit will get a second look. I like the supercharged big block engine. These Schott wheels from ZForce that I detailed are among the wheels I am considering for the build.
