  1. My wallet is safe this month, as I have unbuilt examples of each of the model cars I want.
  2. Tom Coolidge was one of the best resin casters. His products were eclectic, but excellent. I have several of them, and I am a very happy customer.
  3. I had planned to do the 68 Dodge Coronet to bookend with the Revell Dodge Charger, as I have a R&R Resin 68 Coronet R/T. But of course MPC reissued the kit. Oh well.
  4. I bought two of them as soon as the kit was available. It seems true to the original, other than the too small wheels and tires, which I was able to take care of with Resin repops of the original Appliance Apache Wheels from the original annual AMT 67 Camaro SS Hardtop kit. I detailed and mocked up a set for a later kit build when I can. The tires in the photo are just placeholders. I have yet to compare this kit to my other AMT Imperial kits in my collect. A 1966 Imperial LeBaron Hardtop can be made from this kit by an enterprising. Talented Modeler. The inter is there if you leave off the Green Hornet Accessories.
  5. The 79 Camaro is a must have for me. As a young car salesman, I had one for a demonstrator, which was medium red metallic, with a camel vinyl standard interior, whitewall tires and color matched Rally Wheels and sport mirrors. The company let me pin stripe the car with gold and white stripe tape. I drove the car a short time before a local business owner bought the car. I'm going to do that car to the best of my ability. I'll have to remove the fender vents and the spoilers, as well as fix the side window profile. I don't forsee a problem with the Rally Wheels, as Canuck 3D does Avery nice set. I built this kit in the early 90s, and I still have a street machine version moulded in black.
  6. I had the stock height and chopped top multi piece Revell 57 Ford Ranchero kits in my collection One was sort of a gluebomb, so I used pieces of it for other projects. Most of the stock roof version went into a Jimmy Flintstone 57 Country Sedan. When Revell introduced the 1957 Sedan, I decided on a Ranchero project. I used the bed and Tailgate from ol' blue, some sheet and rod styrene and some scratch building, and I came up with mine. No its not resin, and I am very satisfied with the result of my build.
  7. That fit is not acceptable. I wonder how my 3D printed grilles will work. I think I will have the same problem, as I took one and fitted it to my Deserter GMC project that I am turning into a 83 Silverado 4x4 with an Iceman Collections grille, and scratch built features. Maybe I will build both as Police Vehicles from the 1980s. I have plenty of decals.
  8. I have the following first generation Corvairs in my model collection to be restored: 1960 Corvair 700 Sedan- Kit Based 1961 Corvair 700 Sedan-Promo Based 1962 Corvair Monza Coupe- Kit Based (2) 1963 Corvair Monza Convertible-Kit Based 1964 Corvair Monza Spyder Coupe-Kit Based (2) I built one of my 62s in Aqua with the white interior. I put custom wheels on it. The other 62 I have had the custom front and rear treatment and painted Testors Copper. I was able to strip the paint and cleanly remove the custom parts. I was able to get a partial kit and box that had everything else needed to build a car. A friend of mine was into Corvairs when I was a kid. He had a Maroon one with a white interior. The 1960 and 63 have been bodyworked and primed, and are ready for paint, once i decide on the color. The 1961 Sedan is a very nice light Green Promo with no warp or issues. The 1964s are clean unpainted Kit Based models. One has had some painting on the interior by the previous owner, otherwise left alone. One is going to be yellow, with the black interior. One of the teachers at my elementary school had one. I may replicate her car. I haven't decided on the fate of the other 64 yet. I haven't started on my second generation Corvairs. That's for another post.
  9. I have a couple of 64 Corvair models to restore. I'm going to add the wire wheels to mine
  10. I have several different grilles in my inventory, and a set of Fireball Modelworks 6-lug 15x8 Rally Wheels with a set of his all terrain tires. A good friend of mine had a black/gray 87. I'm good for at least three. I may sell off my MPC 76.
  11. The bed from the 1960 is a great start to do one as a F250.
  12. Now where did I put my 6 lug Rally Wheels? I wonder will the upgrade Grills from different years fit? I would like to do a 81.
  13. I don't know since I am not their agent. Contact them directly with your needs.
  14. I have one 63 Plymouth Valiant Signet and a Hyper Pak, and several 71 Duster 340 kits for chassis bait.
  15. Years ago, I opened the hood on an AMT 1964 Plymouth Valiant Signet. And added an engine and chassis detail from the AMT 71 Duster 340. I dressed the engine like a 273 Power Pak. I had to shorten the chassis about 3/16", and remove the floor from the interior tub. I plan to do the same with the 65 Barracuda I have ro rebuild.
  16. Back in the late 1980s, I belonged to a model club, where there were several accomplished builders. A couple of them built a couple of interesting chopped AMT 49 Mercury Coupes. One of them knew my building style, and flatly told me that I could not accomplish the building of an aestihcally correct one. Meanwhile, I was looking through some magaz, and saw a Joe Ballion Tutorial on how to fo a one-to-one car. I did mine based on how he did his car. I think it came out great. I may do another
  17. I really like that. I remember building one of those in 1969. Believe it or not, I have one of those as a current project. I'm working on. I added the Air Conditioner to the 430, and adding detail to the interior.
  18. The wheels in the 1979-80 MPC Chevrolet Monte Carlo are veryclose.
  19. I bought one of those 4 bangers to do just that.
  20. I had a loaded Black and Silver 1981 for a company demonstrator. It was quite a gas hog, and fortunately it got sold within a week of my receiving it. I have several 3D printed grilles, and a very nice set of 15" Aluminum factory styled wheels, but I may go with something else from the aftermarket. Everything is dependent on the fit of the 3D goods I have. I'm quite sure the kit will be first rate.
  21. I had some bench seat sets from the AMT 66 Nova cast in resin for a two door Sedan project. I also have a LS engine, and a resin cowl hood, and a AMT 66 Nova Pro Street Chassis for the project. I've been watching too much Iron Resurrection.
  22. I bought all three of the Galaxie Chevrolet kits and haven't built any of them yet, even though I looked at them, and was impressed with the quality of them, and ones I've seen built by good modelers were fantastic. I want to trick out all three mildly with appropriate lowering, wheels, tires, and paint. If we get a Fleetline with the wood grain panels, I'm in for one, as well as another Sedan Delivery to mate with one of Best Products excellent station wagon transkits.
  23. I have an unbuilt one in the basement Very Brittle. I may see if I can get the body, grille and hood cast in resin in the event I decide to build it. Those parts are superior to the AMT kit.
  24. I consider you a good friend, and your builds are excellent and well thought out. I'll eventually return to the meeting.
  25. It looks great. Reminds me of the car that was built for Earl Campbell by Extensive in Houston. If I built one, I would trick it out., even though a dark colored one factory stock would be pretty elegant.
