Yes, there WAS a time when Jo-han was a competitor in the plastic kit market . It's no secret Jo Ham haneeil was truly a master craftsman as the molds started as 1-10th wood carvings . Then too, there was a time when opening a Jo_Han annual kit was every bit as good as one from SMP , Aurora , or AMT . . Jo-Han had the Imperials , De Soto's , Studebaker's and of course Nash Rambler's the bigger kit manufactures didn't . People have told me they don't remember this kit . While this is an original, Seville , the molding operation who took over JoHan in the 1990's re issued the Rambler as a Taxi Promo I needed some "Off beat " cars to pose with a Victorian Home diorama I'm doing for a 2018 invitational miniatures show . This Rambler will "Grace " a scale West Franklin Street near the Virginia Commonwealth university campus and show off a 1968 Richmond Virginia

I was finally able to get a Ford Transit Cargo van from Model Roundup. By the way , the prices may be a little high , but the service is TERRIFIC ! What I need are any engine specifications . I know these were 4 cylinder engines and interior shots would be helpful. Houston was selling these in the late 70's . I wish I had taken time to have photographed one in the day .

1/25 Scale Figures
Eshaver replied to modelercarl's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Mike , that would be wonderful ! See, I am re creating the corner of West Florence and Denver ave over in Hawthorne . In case that makes no sense , that was where the Zep Diner was along with a Gilmore and a Richfield gasoline station . -
1/25 Scale Figures

I went over to the Shapway site and saw where they have a pair of Cary Grant figures . This is great for me as I'm re creating a corner of early Los Angles as a diorama trio . Thank You so very much for the information you shared . -
Wayne , in response to the tires on the Falcon , yes , they would have been correct with a 260 V-8 I do't know what to say as to the Missing Sedan delivery parts in the box you have . last time I saw one compete was in Clemmons N Carolina at the Carolina Kustoms NNL . That one HAD the parts in the box .

Wayne , I hit Paydirt on this one !!!! Looks like I have BOTH the boxes that AMT produced the Ranchero kit in for 1961 . First , AMT released their Compact series as 1.39 originally . These were "Curbsiders " as engines weren't offered in these kits . HOWEVER, UNIQUE to these kits were the smaller 13 inch tires and today , they're near extinct . These tires were NEVER re- issued in the remakes of the Ranchero and if you look closely, you'll see them on my Sedan delivery . One of the things that remains a mystery to me is that the "Port holes" pictured on the AMT Compact kit box were NOT in the parts inventory . I guess one could raid the Round Port holes from a Ford Econoline van kit to duplicate the Box art model . The reissues of the Ford Falcon Ranchero did indeed supply the "Padded roof extension " needed to allow the Sedan delivery option to mate to the cab's roof. Hopefully, these photos will help you identify what kits to be on the hunt for .

Chrome dosen't seem to work either . I have BOTH Firefox and Chrome .

Mike , if I may expand upon your EXCELLENT reply here , the Original AMT kit sedan delivery option was supposed to also go with a "Roof" extension that somehow was added back into the last 1961 Re issue . This piece of course was an upholstered Roll and Pleat padded top with a rearward scoop. . In 1961 , that piece looked horrific to me as it does now . I had to section out the bottom of the sides so as to make the Sedan delivery parts match the Stoch configurations and then , I had to cut out the rear window in the body . . Because the "Custom " rear window gate was not close to stock , I omitted that all together . The "REAL" sedan deliveries used the window reveal from the station wagon anyway . On a side note , if one wanted to do the 1961 "Box Art " Ranchero custom , you would need some Port Holes from one of the AMT Van kits as the art revealed a 57 T Bird rendition if you will . Perhaps I need to buy a Jimmy Flinstone Sedan Delivery and do the AMT Box art version at some point too !

Years back , I got the same NONSENSE as you . I asked for a Stutz Bearcat . Instead , what I got was a partly assembled mass of parts . The seller ? Gee, should I give ya ALL the aliases this KLOWN has had over the years ??? -

How much have you spent on a build?
Eshaver replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hummmmm, a single model car , I guess a couple , three months . Diorama to completion , probably eight months -
EXCELLENT POINT!!!!!!

Regardless of a kit's vintage , I buy kits to build . I know this dosen't sit well with the collectors who sit about reminiscing .

The Beginnings Of Our Interstates
Eshaver replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I watched the construction of a couple of sections of I-95 from my grandmother's house in Richmond Virginia . It wasn't until I returned from living in Dallas Texas for years that I found the ORIGINAL route circumvented most of Richmond ! If if you visit Virginia , take I-295 as this is what was intended . See, I-95 was a Toll road from the day it opened in 1957 until 1993 . It was GREEDY Richmond Virginia government who withheld real estate and construction funds until Washington DC went with Richmond's wants . -
FINALLY!!!!!! SOMEBODY here got the details correct on a 53 Ford deluxe cab . However , the window division bar is Stainless steel and you COUL have had a chrome windshield reveal molding . You'll need to scratch build the "Boomerangs around the F-100 hood emblems as AMT for what ever reason sent this kit out in 1963 with a Deluxe grille and a Standard hood .
