  1. I have to agree 100 % on this !!!!! I've built both kits too
  2. Bill, I too have inherited , so to speak a treasure trove of old AMT annuals . Sadly , I have two AMT 1964 Corvettes that are missing parts . I MAY be able to scrap together ONE car if I go on line and by a 63 for the tail lamps , grille and a set of wheels . . Same goes for a 1963 Chevrolet Apache truck . I'm going back on Face Book and offering what I bought in a post concerning several kits and warn the buyers NOT to be too dissapointed .....
  3. It is indeed the Lincoln "Y" block with the die cast aluminum covers
  4. Yes indeed Tommy ! I own a 1978 Step side and people are all the time mistaking it for a much older truck too . The big reason for the extended width was that camper shells weren't fitting the Step side beds . Sure a 4 X8 sheet of plywood fits flat , but try to find certain parts to rebuild the real deal with .
  5. Bill, you're quite correct sir ! See, it wasn't that long ago before my health went south of the equator that I used to be able to re build the old Cast Iron Hydra- Matics and Ford - O- Matics . Of course I also rebuilt Ford Model A and Ford manual gear boxes too . Face it , I'm a dying breed , fooling with Flat head Fords , and dreaming of days of a Dual disc clutch ......
  6. Gary , I'm having a hard time trying to visualize a 10 speed automatic myself in an automobile . I have seen what a Detroit Allison looks like in a Ford F-700 with a 3808 Caterpillar .
  7. Rich, my cousin owns such a tractor . A lot of parts can be had on the 8N- 9N forum https://www.shopping.net/shopping?qsrc=999&qo=semQuery&ad=semD&o=600389&l=sem&a
  8. Dan , I'm NOT married to Agnes. That is the 78 Ford . I have a 53 Ford Panel that is mostly original . Why not come down for a week end visit into Virginia and I'll give you my two hour tour of former Architecturally significant former service stations , ( 1915-1940 ) . I'm told Richmond Virginia has some of the LAST KNOWN examples of some of these service station buildings too....
  9. Here's MY answer to NO computer, NO High tech , a NO option 1978 Ford F-100
  10. Dennis , if it were me , Id go the "Under construction " threads . We should combine forces as I am the one behind the model of the Fish Inn that was in Cour de Adeline Idaho . I'm already being asked to have the Fish Inn on display at the next Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens miniatures show in Richmond Virginia in 2018
  11. Dennis , as a former boat repair shop owner , I beg you to keep us updated as to this boat build ! I have LONGGGGGGGG wanted to know the origins of this kit as I once had one from 1961
  12. Doug , I remember this !!!!! Yep, YOU got action ......
  13. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY - PERIOD !!!!!!!
  14. Doug, because I focus on Dioramas , I would buy any of these as kits . Maybe perhaps multiples because the Plymouth and the Pontiac held well in the dioramas I specialize in . The Oldsmobile would be a nice candidate simply because of it being a Great "Beater car " .....
  15. I guess SOME here can say what they want about the "STOCK " comments I have made . . I still reserve comments over the AMT "Motor City Stocker " kits bringing some OUTRAGEOUS prices . Go ahead , , go price a 1970 Ford Torino , yeah , go ahead ......
  16. Art , I understand the injection process as I studied the art of this years ago . The thing that I failed at was Calculus and a couple other required courses that AMT would have required . That never deterred me . I studied Fiberglass AND several other molding processes , including design . I'm simply posting this to remind ya that I am one who has at least done her homework .....
  17. Mark, you , me maybe Bill are the few Stock builders here . The plastic manufacturers seem to have a mindset that we really need more 57 Chevrolets, Rail dragsters and Camaro street rods .I'm tired of asking for a re issue of a 1963 Ford F-100 , or a 1966 Bonniville cause I know it will fall on deaf ears ...
  18. What ever gets ya through da night ......
  19. Randy, THANK You for sharing the Cadillac story ! I actually knew a man in Los Angles with one of these cars who lived up the street from me .
  20. Me too! I'm always interested in folks who do something truly unique .
  21. Bad Ellen , BADD BADD BADD ! Yes , you are once again my fearless copy editor and I yield to you Mr. Anderson !
  22. Dan, this kit can be done as a 1963 and by using the "Custom " headlamps , you can do the 1965 version as well. Years back , I had both the Aurora version and the AMT . I'd say either is a worth doing project . The Aurora had an opening trunk and some luggage . The AMT version omits the Opening trunk . The AMT also allows the builder to do the Paxton supercharged version
  23. I talk to him on the phone and he's a FB friend of mine . Do I need to call him ?
  24. Well Mike , at least you even HAVE a "LHS" . We have Two Hobbytown USA's , two H-L both at extreme ends of the city and a scattering of Michael's . Since what I need are scratch building supplies , I no longer even HAVE THE LUXURY of dealing with ANYONE who even want's my business. I'm never going to buy an RC car and trains , well, I have my father's Lionel stuff I just look at . The cost of me buying any kind of a new kit has become a dream as the freight and cost of driving to a local store outweighs the cost of merely buying one kit . Since the Shows here in Virginia are ALL IPMS , I can choose all the military stuff one could ever want . I'm out of this discussion .......
