  1. Art, as a former Earl Schieb painter , that is why we used Enamel. Even the "Diamond Lustre" paints were Enamels .... Oh, they weren't 39.95 . They began at 49.95
  2. Jim, I had to laugh while reading this . You make excellent points . Some folks would scream bloody murder if they were handed Free Green Moon cheese if they were given that too !
  3. Terry , I'm not quite sure how to answer your question . Are we working on a Full size car , a large diorama or just an average plastic model kit . I do large dioramas . Yes, LARGE pieces , like 3 X 4 feet . In my case , I buy my products by the gallon .
  4. Here is a vintage shot of an American Bantam coupe
  5. Rumors persist the magazine is still being published in it's long standing "OFF BEAT " schedule . I used to buy it until our last REAL Hobby shop closed in Richmond Virginia and I refuse to deal with Hobby Town anyway .The current Franchise owner carries the Scrap Auto magazine and I won't even go near that publication .
  6. Harry was wayyyyyy better than several I have butted heads with hrere over the years but he was indeed a person whom I had moderate disagreements with too. Look, I was a moderator myself on a competing Model forum for years . I got my self chomped on by members as being a "Moderator " is no bed of roses .
  7. Jean , your former Service station , now customizing shop was certainly a bigg hit on my diorama FB group . I also certainly enjoyed the construction break down you provided too. It shows why I like using Foam core to do buildings with .
  8. Looking at this makes me want Canadian bacon
  9. Tom, without coming off mean , too many REFUSE to do thier homework concerning what is and is NOT correct in a diorama . The same goes for restored gasoline pumps . I go to shows and I CRINGE when a Texaco pump is painted GREEN!!!!!!
  10. Rob , just before I retired in 1998, I had a third interest in a boat repair shop . I can think of countless Sea Rays and a couple of Bayliners out there sill headed to the local Boat landings that deserve a kit . While "Inboards" were the thing of the 1940's and 50's I-O setups with Mercruiser drives are the way to go today . I would see one Ford engine for about every thirty Chevrolet powered boats . Oh , I should have said Mercury ......
  11. Al, yes , the AMT 3 in one boat is coming back. It's based LOOSELY around a 1952 Chris Craft speed boat with the Packard Flat head in it .
  12. Craig make a lot of GREAT points ! I'm brokering a small collection of AMT Trophy kits and a smattering of annuals for a lady I wnt to the same HS with . I was straight up with her and told her what the kits were bringing and quite frankly, she was shocked . Yes,she has several pieces I want for my own self personally . I'm still not going to take advantage of a situation because one , I still sell Ford Flat head parts at shows . I have long been a Hemming's Motor news advertiser and I get around in small circles ....
  13. Chuck, you were correct on 1962 , the fall to be exact
  14. Thanks to Dave Ambrose taking the filters off, I can now share my dioramas . If yer a faceBook fan , I'm the one behind the Zep Diner and Gilmore photos you may have seen on Los Angles groups in years past . I'm currently doing a few more SOCAL Vintage Small commercial structures . This was just West of the famed Zep Diner on West Florence and Denver . Today, a Valero self service stands where a Richfield and a Gilmore stood . A McDonald's stands on the Zep diner property
  15. Ha , I can share pictures of my dioramas now again !!!!!!!
  16. Can you elaborate , perhaps a link , a shot of where to go on Google .... ANYTHING ????
  17. David , If you P-M me , I'll provide links to BOTH service station groups I own over on face Book and to my diorama group . Granted , I don't deal too much in the way of parts for te 1-1 Multi product dispensers , but I do have a few pieces of NOS literature pertaining to Wayne , Bennett, Koppens and yes , Tokiem .
  18. There have been several on the H A M B forum lately that have mentioned Tex Smith's XR-6 Roadster . I had the original kit from 1965 and I remember the "Off beat " asymmetrical styling of the rod . I also remember the fenders being a total pain in the rear to align given the glue we had then too. Given what we have for tools and adhesives now , time MIGHT be on our side to have this kit back ....
  19. A CAPITAL Idea Mizza Wayne !!!!!!
  20. Chris Tone makes a lot of GREAT points here . I agree with the Suspension and engine choices as I have had my fill of Aluminum Billit ad state of the art underpinnings . Course I want parts to build a worn out stocker
  21. Very nicely done video first . This screams Panel truck , so making a SWB Panel is nearly a snap. The rear door gives an experienced builder the option of the Lift up and Tail gate assembly option too! I also for see the Resin Guys making the LWB version too. Loads of possibilities here
  22. I want a 1932 Ford truck. Yeah, a medium duty with Disc wheels would be a real winner ....
  23. Here's another toughie . I've now built BOTH kits . The Revell kit turned me off by not having moveable wheels . I now have BOTH the Revell Coupe and an A M T Coupe unbuilt and I'll get to both as diorama support subjects . It's not fair to compare a kit using 1960 technology to 2005 technology either ....
