  1. I remember one "Theme was "Box Art models . I tell ya , the old A M T 1940 Ford sedan was such a delight as it brought back vivid memories of my own youth ........
  2. Many of your interior details are simply stunning ........
  3. Yes, I have a couple of kits I got very reasonable and won't build . One is the AMT /RC-2 Chrysler 300 . I also have a couple of AMT kits that were made for the Monster figure crowd . No , I'm NOT trading selling them either , PLEASE DON'T ask ..........
  4. Your photography work is unsurpassed !!!!!
  5. Fine job young man !!!!!
  6. Excellent work there Doug !
  7. I have used this technique to recreate the canvas tops on Model T's
  8. 4 pages kids , that a Model cars Magazine record !
  9. Harry, you need to run for public office ............
  10. Tom, I have been a member here for a LONG LONG LONG time . In that duration I have learned ONE THING ! Do NOT SPEAK ILL of a model ! The Moderators here have "Trigger fingers " and won't hestate to retaliate by throwing you off . This is WHY I NEVER Say a desparaging remark on this board . Course too , it has caused me to post my work on face book and other forums as well
  11. Jerry, you'll hate me for my take as the last Decent "REAL Muscle cars to me were Chevelle 396's and probably any B Block Mopar . Even then, by 1972 , it was all over . Build quaality was abysmal and even a brand new Ford Econoline I bought was so so .
  12. To be quite honest , I'm wondering if the 1940 Ford molds were ruined after the run of "Diamond in the Rough " kits . I have unbuilt examples of both and it was a great kit in it's day . I wish a 1941 sedan were available as I have a family member with one . I will NEVER let go of my 1953 Ford truck though
  13. Fine Harry, SHOW me how many people here do gasoline pump models . i have no patience for smart aleck
  14. Decent !!!!!!
  15. I scratch build most of my models on account of the fact that NO One does what I do . Kits on the other hand , shoot , anywhere from two , three days to two , three weeks . For example , I did the old Revell MULTI- piece 1958 Austin Healey 3000 . I guess I spent three weeks as it needed "Tweaking "
  16. I can't add much to Scott's remembrance's . To me this is one of those kits that surpasses most and has never been equaled in several areas .
  17. 1941 Oldsmobile with Hydramatic 1961 Cadillac series 62 1939 Studebaker Coupe Express truck 1936 Cord 810 1946 Ford 1958 Pontiac Starchief 1963 Studebaker Avanti 1964 Studebaker Wagonaire 1963 Buick Rivera 1963 Pontiac Bonneville 1966 Pontiac Bonneville 1965 Chevrolet Impala 1967 Chevrolet Impala 1969-74 Ford Econoline vans SHORT WHEEL BASE models 1976-79 Ford F-Series
  18. Colby, stay away from the ElDorado HT . The top has all kinds of "Fit issues " On the other hand , the top down model goes together nicely
  19. I cut mine up to recreate a wrecker I used to drive for AAA Virginia . I had as much fun doing the model as helping build the real one
  20. Before 2000, my health still allowed me to maintain a "Show vehicle " , well showable anyway . I met the "Trophy hounds , I still see them at Cruise in's as I seldom can make shows any longer . The thing that bothered me the most was the fact how they used to on an on about how "THEY ' did so an so when it was Grunts like us who did the physical labor . Where's my trophy fella ? As for model shows , what I see is mostly club judges awarding trophy awards to their "Buddies " so as to have sponsorship the next year . I made it clear in 2002 I would NEVER EVER judge another I P M S show as long as I live . I have maintained that promise and I have sworn off several shows as a result of politics too . If an exhibit of mine wins , I want it because I truly deserved it , PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Yer welcome Jeff! Hey , I need some backdrop vehicles for my planned dioramas
  22. If Round 2 REALLY wants my attention , dig out a few more of the annuals ! Seeing the Piranha again was a wonderful look back at AMT's heritage and being as I can purchase a replacement for the one I had in 1965 is Theapy . I feel if they can do that one , The Ford F-100 kits or even a 60 El Camino would be a welcome sight
  23. Ace, you said it a LOT better than I ever could , Bless you !!!
  24. I seldom comment on "Under construction model kits and stuff Under Glass . It's NOT that I have a dislike of the subject ! I'm mostly a diorama person and even then , if I don't think the diorama has a professional look, I won't comment on them either
  25. Carolina Kustoms is coming up I imagine in July or August ............. I wish I had a list of NC activities anymore
