  1. The 64 Thunderbird was just the tip of great accessories . Go back one year to the 63 T Bird. There was a Scuba tank set and flippers . The 61-2 Buick special wagon had an "A" Frame for jerking an engine . Better and most unusual in the 1961 S M P Impala was a Bill board one could insert a photo in ! To me , this is really what made plastic model building such a creative past time in the 1960's
  2. This WAS going to be Randy's donuts in Los Angles . The customer backed out and I actually got a LOT more done than is pictured here . I'm too involved to restart this one soooooooooooo ............
  3. The only vehicles I have seen are those advertised as "Flex fuel " cars . Even then, this much alcohol is disastrous on neoprene lines.
  4. I think it's a 2012 Corvette kit that will get built someday
  5. Dan, I remember those AMT Silhouette kits with the Worlds fair art work . That was about the time I went in the hospital in 2010
  6. Big Lots in the Richmond Virginia - Petersburg area seldom sees plastic model kits any longer
  7. SPECTACULAR job of the photographs and the over all revue !
  8. I have unbuilt examples of BOTH kits . The AMT Impala was re worked years back as the Original had working Headlamps and tail lights . Now in 1964, this was TECH CITY!!!!!!!!!!! Building this kit in 1964 was challenging only in regards to the battery box sandwiched between the body and the quarter panels . The subsequent re issues , continued with some of the Advanced customizing parts removed and was a decent replica of a 64 Impala until the Revell piece came out . The Revell Impala has an opening trunk, nice chassis detail and makes for a very nice stocker . Revell did several re issues as "Low Riders " too. You need to watch these if you want a stocker . AMT retained a lot of the NASCAR stock car racing pieces . you need to determine if this is your preferred route . Both depict the 409 engine so that is off the table .
  9. I stopped reading SAE years ago . The critics who do the kit revues are too busy running down a DECADES old re issue to bother with how it makes the overall story look . I can't put credibility into a HACK job ................................
  10. What a GREAT trivia find , suitable for framing as well !
  11. In the day , I owned the Art Forms Design company in Houston . My company had design patents on several drink holders and table designs . Dodge vans were a huge chunk of revenue for us .
  12. This practice has been going on for years . I remember a site known as Model Junk yard
  13. Harry, I as a Renegade Libertarian would NEVER argue that point sir . I was simply pointing up YOUR OWN words from the "Rants and Raves Days , NO Politics . I'm a lot of things and yes , I tend to cause problems in Political arenas as a volunteer lobbyist
  14. Harry, YOU ignited a political "Firestorm " here and I will NOT take the bait as any comment I make will be deemed "Political " . if you want to know my stance , look me up on Face Book .
  15. Greg, stuff happens , well sometimes ...................................
  16. Here is a model of a Pure Oil station built in Richmond Virginia in 1921 known as the Triangle Filling station and featuring the A M T 1927 Ford Model T Touring and a M P C 1928 Lincoln Touring
  17. Photobucket allows me to enhance a LOT of vintage photos . I'm in the exhibit business and most times , I'm very lucky to find old shots from the early 1920's that show details Building permits do not .
  18. Steve , your Galaxy is to die for ! Hey kids , here is one of those so called "Unbuildable " Revell Multi piece kits , the 1959 Sunliner .......................
  19. Regardless, they were Hours and hours of fun laying on the floor admiring them and dreaming . At age 66, I'm an overt the hill kid
  20. Because I do mostly large diorama work, I can get away with Spraycans
  21. Steve , I did the model of The Fish Inn back in 2012. I had no idea that Bing , a search engine would have had such a field day with the pictures I shared to various sites on it's completion . I probably have gotten more calls from Architects than any publication this building had been in .
  22. These are a much needed accessory for any late 60's to mid 80's era diorama . I remember one member here who stated a convenience store / laundry mat diorama . I have never determined how far he got . he an I are both on Face book , so maybe I need to do a story on Lost Dioramas ..........................
  23. Greg, I seem to always try and find a corresponding picture to help a modelers question . I'm making a part time living doing trade shows and diorama exhibits . Ok , I'll post a shot of a diorama if that helps ...........
