  1. Charles , this one is too close to the REAL!!!!!!!!
  2. Bill, first off , Ford NO LONGER even makes their own manual gear boxes any longer , Mazda does for them . Second , Americans no longer want to shift their own gears . Thats why GM Hydra MATIC was invented . My two Ford trucks both have Ford built , Ford manufactured manual transmissions . Getting parts for the 53 , dang NEAR IMPOSSIBLE! The 78, weeeeellll , bad enough ....
  3. I too am surprised as to the Taurus getting the axe . Seems every time I turn around , another government agencey , at least here is sporting another one in White ....
  4. I'm curious as to where the new items might be .... http://culttvman.com/main/moebius-models-has-new-owners/
  5. Casey, I was "Put off " from buying a thing from him due to his rather Curt answers to questions I had on the Future liner . If this is the same fella , I WON'T be buying a thing .....
  6. Now can we expect the rather spartan interior like the dash , motor box too ?
  7. Ben , you bring to mind why I became soooo disenchanted with this forum as well as the Scrap Auto site and several Pro-board forums I just left . I'm doing a Three story Queen Anne residence that was deeded over to a church about 1900. With that said , I am purposelessly having to take "Artistic license" because of the minute details in some instances just aren't going to be feasible to duplicate in scale . Mean while , the "Armchair " engineers here have nothing to do but criticize instead of applying for work as mold makers ....... Thank you for KEEPIN IT REAL !!!!!
  8. Jim, look at the face Book model boards .....
  9. Gary, for someone like myself who is an exhibit builder , Hobbytown has been no friend of mine for years . Yes, they blew into town with EVERYONE'S paint line. Thats nice , but try and get a sizeable Plastruct order in .... Wait , wait , wait .....
  10. I would have to rank Norman Veeber as my favorite .The guys at Motor City have a close second and let me give a shout out to Kenny Shores at Bandit resins , a NO Non sense guy .
  11. Alan, I'm going to be following ya on this cause I may want to copy it for a diorama I'm in the middle of...
  12. I know what ya mean . I still have a Rotary dial phone in this office . Heck yeah , it works too !
  13. They NEED to bring back the phone booth simply for we diorama enthusiasts !
  14. The 80's gals are perfect for a diorama I'm now taking measurements on .
  15. I must be blind as I don't see any poll.....
  16. Coming along NICELY!!!!!
  17. I used to make Fiberglass molds for Custom vans in the 1970's . Mold making is a thankless , tedious chore ......
  18. This is the first I have heard of this . For we diorama builders , it's really become a FULL TIME job sourcing parts . I'm spending HOURS on the phone now dealing with call centers trying to describe what I need ...
  19. I too well remember Micarta brand plastic laminate in the mid 1970's offering a Cane " relief plastic laminate . Oh this stuff was nearly 1.50 a square foot and at the time , that was near TRIPLE what plastic laminate was costing me . I was the ONE manufacturer to offer the Brushed Silver aluminum to Chevrolet Silverado clients who wanted a console that matched their dash boards and the Ford Chateau Van owners could also have drink holders made by my company that matched the dash boards too !!!
  20. In my judgement , Monogram was the winner in Chevrolet van kits . I was in the van accessory manufacturing business 1973 1988. All of my pieces were built to meet DOT and fit the model of van specific . In the case of this Monogram Short Wheel base , this one got the details correct although I could care less as to the "Molded " wheel flares . It's "Fixable to those of us who didn't or need such additions . AMT's Chevrolet Vans of the last Dirty Donnie revision LOST the indentations in the roof . Nothing against the Long wheel base crowd , but an obvious detail omitted is just that .....
  21. Mark, I think Round 2 it is ONLY playing the SAFE bets ........
  22. I've managed to rub too many the wrong way in the magazine and model car site forums the wrong way
  23. I am a diorama builder and as far as such rides like the Bath tub buggy, they're useless to me as they can't be used on the street , they usually look like a farce , well to me .
  24. This piece MADE MUH DAY BRIGHT!!!!!!!
