  1. Thanks for the kind words everyone!
  2. Thanks TooOld. I have to let you know they are both 1:8 scale, so they were big canvases.
  3. I managed to get 5 done this year, which is a very productive year for me.
  4. Thanks Kenny! I think anyone would mistake yours for one of mine, and vice versa. Your Camaro in the Completed section looks perfect!
  5. Thanks again everyone! If you can swing the price of the kit, it is definitely worth it, IMO. I managed to get one of mine back when you could find it on the shelves for $50 or so about 10 years ago.
  6. Wow! Very nice! You have any more pics of that orange one? It looks spectacular!
  7. Awesome work! And incredible detail. That looks amazing! I bet masking those silver stripes was fun. Where did you find the houndstooth for the seats?
  8. If you can believe this, they did something similar in the late 70`s/early 80`s. Well, Monogram anyway. I remember my parents picked up a Pepsi Challenger kit for me at Pathmark way back when. Pep Boys has the best selection of Dupli Color paints by far around here, nearly twice the variety of Autozone/Advance Auto/etc for those who are interested.
  9. You guys that are having trouble, are you able to right click on the link and click "Save Link As" and download it? Is it just me, or does this years catalog seem pretty extensive? Just seems like there is alot this year. Also, I am seeing the "Enter before May 15th" for the championships. I am assuming this is just so it is in the catalog, and not because they might be starting it earlier this year? I haven`t seen anything on the 2013 contest yet.
  10. Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it. Thanks Ted`s. Now that I look at the picture, I noticed the license plate is missing. I built this one years ago, so I can`t say for certain, but I usually print out a period correct PA license plate for these. The inspection sticker was a scan and print of either a `69 or `70 PA state inspection sticker from memory.
  11. Here is the Baldwin Motion Drag Cobra if anyone is interested. Like Raoul said, heldibrand wheels, scooped hood, slicks, etc. came with this that are not in the above kit apparently.
  12. They all look great Harry! Wish I could do that! How long does one of them take you to do?
  13. Oh wow, that looks great! I built one a while back with that exact color scheme, only mine had the white billboard Hemi stripes. Which kit did you use?
  14. Thanks Brodie!
  15. This is the Monogram kit, originally issued in `85 or `86. I don`t remember seeing them on the shelves back them, so I think it was a pretty rare kit. See first post for pics.
  16. See first post for pics.

Excellent! I like the tach on the dash and the air cleaner. What did you use to paint the body?
  18. Thanks again everyone! Yeah, I actually dropped the front about 2 scale inches, and the rear just a little. Also, I`m not sure if anyone noticed, but I didn`t use the kit tires. I used the tires from the GTA kit. They were a little wide, but the diameter was more accurate IMO. And the rims fit in them perfectly.
  19. I had to check the USGS site after reading this. That seems really unusual for that area. I remember last year when we had the 5.9 in Virginia. I was in Baltimore at the time, and the whole building was rumbling and shaking...something I had never experienced before. Since then, I check the USGS site on a regular basis. Earthquakes happening in alot of strange places recently.
  20. Im sure Im not going to surprise anyone by putting these three up. All of them are nice (big!!) kits in themselves. But they all can be built three different ways, and the race/drag parts are all different in each kit. Combining all of them, you have Cragars and Centerlines, white walls and red lines, slicks and skinny stockers, blowers and hi-rise intakes, big block and small block engines, etc.
  21. Thanks again everyone! Wow, that is incredible! Oh no, you`ve given me inspiration for yet another project! How long did it take you to build that?
  22. Thanks again everyone! Sorry Cato, I missed your response... For this one, because it was so small with lots of curves, I didn`t guide coat this like I do sometimes with the big ones. From memory, I just used a few coats of Duplicolor grey primer, then sanded and sprayed the base red, and then masked and painted the gold stripes. Then I applied 5-6 coats of clear. I do sand the clear, starting with 1500 and moving up to 3000, followed by several grades of compounds. I have a good bit of detail on my process in MCM issue 150.
  23. Thanks everyone! From memory, I built this one using the Baldwin Motion Drag Cobra kit from way back when. Thanks. The stripes were masked and painted, and then clear coated.
  24. Thanks everyone! Thanks Brodie! Which 1/16th kit do you have? Yeah, I am thinking all of them are 1/24.
  25. LOL! It`s killing me too. Oh, for more time...... Hopefully I`ll have some progress pics for you guys soon.
