  1. Charles, sharing your knowledge has been very helpful. I had not thought of using your methods for two part molding but they make perfect sense and the results you get speak for themselves. Thank you for your time and your patience.
  2. Completed another great trade with Sam I am- always a great trader!
  3. Same here with fordf-100- great trade!
  4. Guess I will have to clean my file first!? I have also discovered that fine mesh can be painted or chromed, trimmed to size, and, using clear gloss, applied over the lens to simulate stone guard screens. Ever try to paint the molded on screens for early Corvettes?
  5. A lot of it is eyeball engineering- does it look right? If you have leftovers that were right, bring them along for a close match.
  6. For a two part mold, I assume you include a sprue and pour cup to introduce the resin into the mold. Could elaborate a bit on your methods? Much appreciated!
  7. First, never get rid of models- you will always regret it. A friend of ours rotates her pictures occasionally to refresh her perspective. If you really can't display them all, try rotating them (maybe with a theme) and store the others away carefully, away from heat and at an even temperature and humidity. My wife supports my model building and has no problem dis[laying some in our living room- the rest are on shelves in my model room (she comes from a car enthusiast family- I married well!)
  8. Found it- definitely had the "what- me?" look- saved more time looking for it than refabricating it!
  9. The Black Hole strikes again- I had been fabricating a hinge from brass channel- bent, cut, hinge holes drilled- and while beginning- literally- to do some final shaping, it flew out of the pliers and into- THE BLACK HOLE! It's my model room- it's a relatively confined space- but it has lots of stuff- open boxes of stuff- and I can't find it. I did hear it hit something- no idea what- and now I have to decide whether to start over (possible, but somewhat less enthusiastically engaged upon), or to continue looking (pulling more things apart)- or hope I suddenly see it looking at me with that "what- me?" look on its face.
  10. Thank you so much for sharing!
  11. Everyone, thanks for the responses- I don't solder, but I think something similar with styrene tubing, some plastic scrap and a file could yield the same result.
  12. Also very interested-
  13. Absolutely awesome! And fun! You can look for hours!
  14. I love it! Your figures are remarkable- where did you get them? I recognize a few- lots of modifications! That is one jumping place- are you going to add cars?
  15. Thanks for the info- very helpful.
  16. Great build, the paint reminds me of the wrinkle enamel they used to use on tool and tackle boxes.
  17. Charles, thanks much for the additional photos- I see no flaws! I was a foundry tooling engineer for over 30 years and also learned the value of proper communication.
  18. Russell, thanks for the link- that Zephyr looks tasty- I will see if I can find one!
  19. Hien, thanks for the info, your models and paint are beautiful.
  20. Ken, thanks for the tip but not familiar with Airtrax- any info?
  21. Was a 1937- 1940 Lincoln Zephyr coupe ever offered in 1/25th or 1/24th scale?
  22. Superb! As Scotty from Star Trek once said, "it's green!" Beautiful paint job and great contrasting colors!
  23. Thank you so much for the additional photos of the dash and interior. The explanation for creating the tarp top is excellent- were you ever a teacher?
  24. Any chance of a close up or two of the dash? It looks fantastic, would also like a pic or two of the power train shifting levers. Great modeling!
  25. I too would like an update- great stuff going on here!
