Good Ole Handsome Harry. He was a great driver. I remember an interview with him after Nextel took over sponsorship from Winston and all of a sudden everybody became former Nextel Champs but Good Ole Harry still referred to it as Winston Cup Racing. Miss the older drivers. Great job on all.
  2. Is this the car your are referring. It shows on Matt's website that he ran this in 1998. http://www.mattkenseth.com/photos/1998/paint/1998PeterbiltDega.jpg
  3. Making slow progress on the Falcon. Got a coat of primer on and noticed a few areas needing some attention. Got the chassis primered as well. Need to start looking at fabbing up some motor mounts for the straight six power plant.
  4. Been awhile since I updated this project. Been slow going on it with work and a new son being born at the end of July and some other projects. Finally got the body in primer and noticed a few areas that needed blocking. Mocked up the suspension to see about ride height.
  5. Have seen it to be the case with Sprint Cup and Nationwide but have not seen anything about trucks yet. Yeah the 2013 Charger looked great. Don't know how competitive it would have been though. And just as Chevy was going to run the Camaro in the Nationwide series in 2013 against the Mustang and Challenger. Now that would have been great for the muscle car fan but not to be.
  6. Just seen this on You Tube. This sucks.
  7. I think the AMT COT models would have sold a little bit better if they would have tooled up all cars Dodge Ford Chevy and Toyota instead of only releasing the Chevy in how many different liveries. You ca nonly build so many Nascar Chevies before you get bored and want to build another brand
  8. Looks awesome. Love all your builds.
  9. Scott I really enjoy seeing your Petty builds. They have all looked awesome great job.
  10. Looks good. Never thought about doing that car in model before. Is it me or does the scene sound track from McQ following the truck sound like the one chase scene from Bullit?
  11. I got them from decalsbylucas.com
  12. Got the body trimmed out with bare-metal and started placing decasl on it.
  13. I have finally started painting on my Lee Petty 55 Chrysler 300 model. The instruction sheet for the Flock 300 recommends Testors Wimbledon White for the factory Platinum color but, I felt as if it was a little to yellow (?) for the factory Platinum color so I decided to try Tamiya Racing White. I think it looks alittle closer to my eye. When viewed in person it had a heck of a shine for spraying from a can in 100 degree very humid weather. Here's one under my desk lamp to show shine.
  14. I can get my hands on it whenever I want, its in the garage where Im living. I surmize that one day it will be my wife and mine car since her great-grandmother meant so much to her and my love with the automobile.
  15. Started cleaning up engine and seeing how she will fit. By the way here is the real car sits today.
  16. I have since sanded and cleaned up the body working on filling in tap holes in the inner fender structure under the hood, puttied where needed, took side moulding off and working on getting it ready for paint. I have decided to go with a Revell 1966 Mustang chassis, which I had to whorten the wheelbase by 3/32 to align but otherwise fits great. I have gotten a resin straight 6 from Don Loomis per the suggestion of fellow members here. I have stripped the paint on the hood of the second Falcon build-up and looks like it is fresh from the box. I ave the stock seats in my stripper yet, they look like they have been painted 2 or 3 times. Here is it with the Mustang chassis fitted.
  17. I have decided to try and build a replica a car for my mother-in-law. It was a car that her grandmother owned and was left to her. It is a 1967 Ford Falcon with the straight 6 under hood. I searched the internet and found a glue bomb on everybodies favorite auction site and won it. This is what I had gotten. It was built up as a gasser. No stock seats or stock hood. Luckily it wasn't panited. Everything came apart fairly easy but somethings were going to need replaced. I placed any order with Modelhaus but have yet to receive it. They didn't have everything I needed so I found a 1966 Falcon that was built stock and had the other parts need. Heres what I got this go around.
  18. Does anybody know whether this verison of the 64 Mercury still has the stock car parts with it? I believe the older verison in the small box did but wasn't sure about this one? Any help out there?
  19. Finally got a small update. I had sometime between projects at work and started looking at the Savoy trim and how best to represent it on the model. trying just scribing it on the fenders but that didn't work out to well. So I decided to take a file and flatten the protruding bodyline in the fender and door and glued some tubing which was flattened on the back side in place. Need to shape it alittle yet but I think it will work. I also got my wheels and tires from Plastic Preformance Products as well as as roll cage kit. I also got my chassis primed and noticed some areas that needed some attention with putty. Fits pretty good.
  20. Here's a Youtube video showing glimpses of the car.
  21. Awesome but I have one question. If this were a real ar how would one work on the engine when and if needed?
  22. Just seen where COtton Owens passed this morning. Another great loss for Nascar and its fans. http://www.nascar.com/news/120607/cowens-obit-hall-of-famer/index.html
  23. Have been looking at this kit since it came out and finally the so called local hobby shop had gotten one. I pick it up and couldn't wait to get started on it even though I have a lot of other models started. I first primed it with Tamiya Gray Primer, then sprayed it with Tamiya Maroon and then sprayed it with Tamiya Mica Red and then shot Testors Ultra Gloos Clear Lacquer over it since I don't have any more Tamiya Clear. Then I moved on to the interior, primed with Tamiya White Primer, then shot it with Testors Modern Desert Sand and the shot some Tamiya Semi-Gloss Clear on that. The chassis has been sprayed the same as the body along the rockers, then Flat Black with Tamiya Semi-Gloss Clear then Testors Light Gray Metallic lacquer.
  24. I have the decals to go on my then it will be complete. Can post pics when completed. Here was a mock up that was done a while ago.
