  1. This is fantastic. I'm really enjoying this build.
  2. Their TV adds always send you to their ads in the golf magazines. Yet another reason I’ll never take up golf.
  3. I believe I can answer this. Obligations to current subscribers will be honored.
  4. We’ve made some improvements, but many of the links in the content are not secure, so that also triggers the warning. Given the nature of the information on this site, it isn’t a serious problem unless you live someplace where building model cars is illegal.
  5. If you need reference pictures, I have one In the driveway.
  6. Update from Gregg -- The implant didn't work, but conventional painkillers are working adequately.
  7. Saw the most adorable VW bus (aka meatloaf) this weekend. All it needs are a couple of surfboards. And yes, the Pacific Ocean is about 100 yards to the right.
  8. Pete, you can borrow mine if you want.
  9. I got one of those a few months ago too. Atlantis is reissuing it, but I figured it would be better to get an older one. Found one for a reasonable price on eBay.
  10. Drat it. Forgot to do that. You’re right. We have a reproducible failing case. Thank you!
  11. Thanks. I just posted a test topic with the above text, and it posted just fine. That's how this problem has been though. No reproducable failing case. There is some set of hidden circumstances here that are failing. We can pursue this with greater zeal once I get the forum software updated.
  12. Thanks, y’all. I for one, have been enjoying the jokes.
  13. Thanks, I know she’s a keeper. She’s put up with me and my esoteric hobbies since 1980. Anyone else would have killed me in my sleep.
  14. That’s my experience too. There is a big SoCal Gundam contest, and the vast majority of participants, all 230 of them, are under 40. My kids grew up with modeling, and we took them along for pretty much everything else we did, including shooting. They have different interests, and that’s just fine. I remember my grandparents telling me how “kids today” were just no good. I had different interests, but I like to pretend I turned out all right.
  15. My wife and I were at the hobby shop. She snagged an AMT Shelby Mustang off the shelf and puts it with the rest of our purchases. I’m like, “Who are you and what have you done with my wife?” She says I’ll be convalescing for a while and doesn’t want me to get bored. Besides, I’ve been looking at those cars for years now. There’s a reason we’ve been married almost 39 years.
  16. What a beautiful car. There is a pervasive minimalism that I like. My first car was an MGA. I still think reaching inside is the right way to open a door. Thanks for posting this. I’d never heard of this car before. Maybe RoG can bring out a kit? (ducks)
  17. That problem has been vexing us for a while now. It seems to be related to the size of your posting. I had it happen to me and don’t think it’s related to your posting content.
  18. For trades, just report the post to the mods as a trade completed. We’ll make the post go away.
  19. Not that I know of. It would be nice to have that. Or at least have the no longer relevant ones disappear.
  20. The last vintage race I attended had a NASCAR division that was populated by all sorts of retired NASCAR racers. It was a lot of fun to watch. Sadly, we no longer have a Coronado Speed Week, and I have to find some other venue. Monterey is doable, but expensive.
  21. These are called Dad jokes in popular parlance. Sometimes I wonder if they didn't get that just a wee bit wrong. . . . It makes things difficult sometimes, but I have to confess that I too, have a twisted sense of humor. I have to stifle myself a lot.
  22. Think of it as euthanasia. You’re putting it out of our misery.
  23. I don't think it was ever nominated for any Oscars, but The Day the Earth Stood Still started out as an excellent movie, and has weathered the passage of time amazingly well.
