  1. Saw that a few minutes ago. God-awful expensive, but hey, if it gets you out of a bind.... Charlie Larkin
  2. Well....it took a few months, but the reviews are starting to come in. Looks like FoMoCo buggered this one, too, and just as badly as we feared, perhaps worse. https://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/driving-the-2015-lincoln-mkc--the-fashionably-late-small-suv-141033008.html Charlie Larkin
  3. Good call to two-tone it. I think with that dark a color, it absolutely needs some type of contrast on that car. The interior was a gold color. The brochure had some nice pictures of it, and I think that together will sum up to a beautiful car. Charlie Larkin
  4. Neat piece. I actually wouldn't mind one of those myself for the unique factor. Charlie Larkin
  5. It works well. Charlie Larkin
  6. That camper looks like that car is loader for bear. What kind of car is that you have, Erik? Looks like another one I wish someone would start selling here so I can get a station wagon. Charlie Larkin
  7. That's what I thought I remembered reading on one thread or another. Interesting note about the doors not being equal length. When I finally get around to mine, looks like I'll be spending some quality time with Internet picture archives. Charlie Larkin
  8. Looks like a high school kid's mild custom, c. 1975-80. Very nicely done. Where did you find those wheels? They're cool. Charlie Larkin
  9. Okay, that's a fair point. Ya know....my grandmother's cousin in Okaland still has her 1963 Valiant Signet with over 300,000 miles (and at 90-ish, is still driving a little bit,) and with all these silly things in the new cars, that little Plymouth is starting to look better and better... I think I did tell her I want first refusal on it when she came back here for Nana's 100th. I'll make sure she knows. Charlie Larkin
  10. I missed that. One other option to order. Another option that shouldn't be optional. Save that weight, get an extra 1/1000 MPG, appease the enviro-nazis in D.C. How about deleting all the electronic garbage I don't want or need? I can deal with crank windows, manual locks, a simple AM/FM radio (although stereo would be nice,) and not have all that other trash. Auto, air for days it's too hot/bright to drop the top and cruise, and I'm happy. Then again, this comes from someone who still likes typewriters because they think the same speed I do. Charlie Larkin
  11. I like that vacu-former, Bill. Now that I've seen it, I'm seriously considering one of those myself for some projects I have in mind. Charlie Larkin
  12. The Collings Foundation in Stow, Ma. has a French Gray Stutz with red seats and black pinstriping. For the pinstriping, masking shouldn't be as bad as it looks. I'd use 1/4-1/2" blue tape, and then, with a fresh blade, cut out around the raised area where the pinstripes are. It might be best to brush-paint to control bleed-under, and touch up as needed. For the gray, plain old Testors gloss gray enamel will get you in the ball-park. The seats are sort of dark red, I'd use red oxide primer, followed by a coat of Humbrol Wine or Testors Dark Red with a little bit of black added to make it more of a maroon. Overcoat either with clear satin or semi-gloss. Charlie Larkin
  13. That is really starting to look nice, Dan. Charlie Larkin
  14. Depending on how far along it is, anywhere from roughly normal to quite bloated. Charlie Larkin
  15. The close-ups could almost be newspaper shots. Truly excellent work. Charlie Larkin
  16. That's my biggest problem with it. Well....gluing my fingers together is a bit annoying, too. Charlie Larkin
  17. Another nice job. The door is moved in which direction? Charlie Larkin
  18. Hopefully, this will work, but this is "if I had an extra large amount of disposable income, what would I do?" http://bp3.ford.com/2015-Ford-Mustang#/MakeItYours/Config[|Ford|Mustang|2015|1|1.|400A.P8F..J4..885.CON.443.~YZKAA.GT.PRE.13D.12A.] I'm a bit disappointed that Ford is only offering a black top and two shades of off-black for the interior. I mean, really, is it THAT expensive to offer say, 3-5 interior color choices- and not all of them accented by black? Something like GM's tone-on-tone interiors would look really nice in this car. Seriously, I would also consider having a custom interior installed- perhaps white leather with blue accents and a white top. I'd probably find nice chrome rims for it, too. That car needs a little sparkle and I think all those graphite/black-finish wheels look absolutely dumb and down-grade. Might try to find chrome door handles, too. I'd also add the 50th Anniversary grille bar onto it via the parts department; I couldn't get a spoiler delete with the package. Mileage doesn't bother me (although for what it is, and talking to a few people with the Coyote engines, they're actually pretty good on gas,) and a car like this wouldn't be an everyday driver, anyway, especially from say, mid-November to mid-late April. Wonder if Ford will start offering a built-in battery tender like Chevy is with the Corvette for seasonal use? Charlie Larkin
  19. Sounds like a pretty decent little kit. Perhaps I'll grab one. Charlie Larkin
  20. I can't stand Starbucks coffee. Some of the worst untreated sewage I've ever run across. Even their "blonde" roast reminds me of lightly-used Valvoline without the petroleum greasiness. Up here, you drink either McDonald's (which I actually like a lot,) Cumbrerland Farms (regional convenience store chain with some surprisingly good coffee,) Honeydew Donuts (good coffee, but DD is trying to squeeze them out of business,) or DD. There used to be a few Tim Horton's around, which I liked, too, but they disappeared. Funny how this goes from silly needless features in cars to silly, needlessly over-priced coffee. Charlie Larkin
  21. I think I still have a few of those floating around the house, too. Considering I'm actually considering going back in time car-wise (ran across a REALLY nice '86 Town Car I'm toying with seriously,) I'll need it. Charlie Larkin
  22. Very nice work, Felix. Charlie Larkin
  23. Not into the headlights. The rest of the car, however, isn't too bad looking. Money/justification presents itself, yeah, I'd at least consider a GT convertible. Charlie Larkin
  24. That actually does sound like a nice combination. The light green with black and black will actually be a rather sharp combination. Charlie Larkin
  25. Nicely done. Charlie Larkin
