  1. Having seen MCW's castings upfront (one of the hobby shops here bought a huge lot of resin from someone, but not of this car,) I'd probably go for his stuff. The casting is excellent quality and his service is outstanding. Charlie Larkin
  2. Do you have any pictures of the kit unbuilt? I'm curious to see what you get, as Steve didn't put any up on Resinrealm. Charlie Larkin
  3. Bob, What are you using for the fawn interior? I've been trying to find a paint that comes close or I can tint and get to look right. I'm moving out of New Bedford, myself. I've been living on Dartmouth Street for the last two years, back home to Marlborough to save a little money and help out with my parents, hopefully a little more work up there, too. What part of town are you from? Charlie Larkin
  4. In conjunction with the Cape Cod Scale Modelers for military models. Last year's show was very good, this one's going to be even better! Gregg....do you need anyone to do a write-up or take some pictures? I can do either/both, and my dad can help with the photos, too. Find a copy of the flyer here. I know there's a good number of New Englanders here and Art Anderson's planning on making a trip out east for this, so please come! This will be a really, really nice event. http://www.masscar.com/Events/flyer2010.pdf Charlie Larkin
  5. For accuracy, the '67/'70 Chevy would be okay. The Model King 1970 Wildcat would be a little easier for you to work with, though, as it's closer in size to the Olds for length and wheelbase. The Wildcat had a 123.2" wheelbase per the 1969 specs, which are identical to the 1970. The Olds has a 124" wheelbase, so that's very, very close. Chevies had a 119" wheelbase in 1970, 121" for 1971-76. I'd suggest finding a Wildcat and using the chassis from that. The Wildcat in and of itself is a nice kit, You might also like to see about having the chassis plate cast by someone and use the casting, or give it a shot yourself. All you'll need is some Olds Engine Blue for the molded-in oil pan. Charlie Larkin
  6. Interesting concept. Too bad Chrysler didn't do something like that. Charlie Larkin
  7. I'll probably be signing up. Wagons are my preferred mode of transportation, so it's always nice to be with like-minded people in that regard. Charlie Larkin
  8. What a neat group of pictures. What wagon forum? I didn't know there was one? Charlie Larkin
  9. Try this: http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/ Charlie Larkin
  10. When one of my friend's father stopped smoking, he put all his butt money in a jar. After about 18 months...a three week trip to England and France for the whole family! It really did add up. Quitting might not be fun; lugging an O2 tank around is even less so. A ride in the back of a Cadillac "station wagon" in a rosewood box is a few steps below that. Good luck to both of you! Charlie Larkin
  11. Merci, Bruno! I didn't know DuPont had this. I've bookmarked it. One thing I have found is that with a lot of colors it's very hard to tell what they are from chips on the computer screen; I suspect it's a combination of digital imaging and limitations on resolution in the screens. You can also buy paint chips at not-too-dear prices from a lot of the literature dealers in Hemmings,Cars & Parts and eBay. I see most of them running $6-10 for a set. Charlie Larkin
  12. That build-up and those cars are very nice, Stan. I rather like the color, too. I might do something along those lines myself, no final decisions yet, though, as it's still a few months (at least) before everything's done. Charlie Larkin
  13. Great idea, thanks for the tip. I may give this a shot sometime. Charlie Larkin
  14. I like that 150 in the solid dark blue; I might do exactly that for mine. Nice job with it. Charlie Larkin
  15. I always liked that maroon or cinnamon over cream. Nice-looking car you got yourself there. Definitely needs a set of whitewalls to set it off. Pictures were a little dark for me to tell, do you have the sport wheels or plain rims? If regular rims, a set of wires'll look real good on that. Charlie Larkin
  16. Another Bruce masterpiece on its way.... Charlie Larkin
  17. Trust me, Jeff, I wasn't arguing with your rationale for picking that statement or the music, it does rather fit! Charlie Larkin
  18. Two very nice Squires, Johnny, and a nice Mustang, too. Charlie Larkin
  19. Wasn't that a song?? It sounds vaguely familiar. Charlie Larkin
  20. It sounds horrible....yet I'm intrigued. If I ever make it up to Montreal, I'll try some. Charlie Larkin
  21. Geez, I walk away for a couple of hours and miss all the fun! Funny and pathetic all at once. Reminds me of my 7th graders when they start acting up.... Charlie Larkin
  22. Uhhh....what is it? Charlie Larkin
  23. This is coming out very, very nicely. Charlie Larkin
  24. Well done. Charlie Larkin
  25. The wheelcovers might be the toughest thing to do. This is the 1971 Olds brochure that'll give you some pictures. I'm thinking you might be able to cobble something up from another GM wheelcover. Wheelbacks and tires are available from The Modelhaus http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/main.php?g2_itemId=122085 What are your thoughts on this kit overall? I might be interested in buying one.
