  1. It doesn't say anywhere on the picture but I hope not, the chassis is white and the engine is silver on this truck so I hope it's molded in white.
  2. Yeah why would anyone do that as the parts are so big anyway, I mean, parts in 1:12th scale are twice as big as if they were done in 1:24th scale
  3. No...and I will pass on it.
  4. It shoud as the hood is one of the few parts that are the same for both years on the real cars.
  5. If you use the Custom kit or 2 'n 1 kit of the 60 Starliner you will get a lot of period correct goodies, these parts are so nice and I have bought several of the Starliner kits just for these parts.
  6. The Boss 429 is a High Performance engine and Ford used screw in plugs that looks pretty much like large pipe plugs on most of their Hi-Perf engine blocks and not the regular press in style...they the use screw in type plug mostly for strength and other engines that uses this type of plugs are the FE 427, the Boss 302 and the 429CJ/SCJ and they also have four bolt or cross bolt main caps. Most of the other Ford engines has regular freeze plugs or core plugs as the also are known as and they are there to seal the holes needed to get the sand from the casting process out of the inside of the block and not so much for help to prevent cracks if the coolant freezes...so core plug is a more accurate name for them. Tim, I might have done if I had the skills and machines...but I don't.
  7. AMT haven't been known for doing the best instructions in the earlier kits, later ones were better.
  8. Modeltruckin has two sets of decals for the Hideout Truck, one with gold stripes outside the white/yellow/blue graphics and one with the same stripes in white. http://www.modeltruckin.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_143_22&products_id=317 http://www.modeltruckin.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_143_22&products_id=70
  9. Sounds like a regular AMT kit from the early 70's, most of what I have built over the years from AMT has been that way.
  10. Well both engine types pollute in different ways, I can't tell wich is better or worse.
  11. One is enough for me and it's already in the stash bought in the mid 90's.
  12. It would be a lot better to use the 1960 Starliner chassis, drive train and floor as it's full detail and very nice, the 1963 chassis is not as it's a one piece with just the engine separate...but as James say, not efficient and economical. I still think it's about time for someone to do new kits of both the 1963½ and 1964 Galaxies as the ones available to us now has lots to desire...it will most likely not happen but I can wish can't I.
  13. That's for sure politically correct in the environment debate we have right now...not.
  14. Pretty not bad...you do awsome models KJ.
  15. The Revell T600 kits, the first with the old style Aerodyne Speeper issued 1990 kit# 7528 and the later Big Sleeper issued 1991 kit# 7531 is a combination of some new parts and parts from the older K100 kits first issued 1982 and that can be one reason to why it's kind of confusing. I have not studied the instructions in my T600 Big Sleeper kit that close yet so I don't know wich version of the istructions I have.
  16. Look on modeltrucks25 fotki albums, they have instructions for most truck kits. https://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truckkit_instructions/amt/t502_peterbilt_352/
  17. Nothing I would do but you do great metal work.
  18. Yes it's different allright, but not anything I would do in a real car, especially if it's a muscle or classic car, it will totally take away the value. It will for sure not handle any better as most diesels suited for this application are heavier than a Hemi, you most likely have to change everything in the suspension and drive train to beef it up for the increased weight and torque, and beef up the front suspension on a Mopar B-body is not that easy with the torsion bars. In my mind diesels belongs in heavy pickups, trucks, tractors and other heavy equipment. But this is modelbuilding and of course every one is intitled to do what they want with their models.
  19. Eehh...why would anyone want to put a "crude oil" (diesel) engine in a muscle car...what's wrong with a V8?
  20. One have to remember that the 62-65 Fairlane shares chassis with only the 62-63 Mercury Meteor, the smaller Comet was Falcon based. The 1966-67 Fairlane and Comet was Falcon based as well as the Mustang and Cougar, so there might be a place to look.
  21. 1967 they used both the Mk II and MK IV, both with dual carb 427's and it was the last year Ford officially entered any cars at LeMans, the 1968-69 cars were Mk I with small block engines as FIA changed the engine displacement rule from 7 to 5 litres for 1968 and those cars were privately entered, not by the factory.
