  1. In 1955 my dad worked on 75 here in Michigan when he was in highschool. Helped lay sod on the overpasses. They are still working on it. LOL
  2. Looks fantastic. I like everything you did with it.
  3. If I was doing this nothing would be below 20 that is a complete kit. Walk into a store and buy one for 15. Being this is for insurance and you are covering your assets do not sell your collection short. Even parts have value. With kit bashed kits the value varies as we all have our own interests. You may never build that street rod you plucked the engine from but it has trade value to someone who would like to use it. So I would put the parts kits with just engine and tires missing at 10 at least, if it has no body just 5. Sorry if I am rambling BTW.
  4. Well done.
  5. Good point about the sharpie markers, remember it is back to school time here so they are on sale.
  6. Nice work TJ. Nothing like Batman and Robin from the 60's. The only thing better is Linda Carter as Wonder Women, for obvious reasons.
  7. Looks great, I like the shaker hood scoop.
  8. Mike this is very interesting. When I started looking at the pictures of the boat tail I was starting to think you left the top off the glue for too long. But now it all makes for a cool custom, I like it. I better find that lid for the glue. LOL
  9. Looks very nice Rick.
  10. Being single and the fact that my family never comes over (unless their kids are selling something for school) I just do not care what they think.
  11. Now that is a reason to buy that kit. Looks great.
  12. I got the bucket and lid at Meijer locally.
  13. Greg I use a 3 gallon bucket with a lid and the purple stuff stays in it. I have strained it a few times. Just label the bucket so you remember what it is. Soak time varies by how warm it is, and the type of paint. I have stripped over a dozen bodies ( some my messed up paint and some purchased glue bombs) with my mix. A good warm summer day I have found is the fastest strip time.
  14. Are you going to use an ammo can for the scoop?
  15. I like the the direction you are going. As far as body work hard to see in the photo's what you are talking about for me. Are the raised parts of the bed floor what you are talking about? If you have the rest of the El Camino you could just that floor if you are not happy with the results you are getting. With the rest of body work it all takes time for me. Try and keep the amount of filler small so you have less chance for sanding error's. Have you tried looking in this area of the forum? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/forum/27-modeling-how-tos/
  16. That is a nice pair.
  17. Al I rode in a White 1966 Cadillac Miller hearse/ambulance from MI to Daytona Beach twice. Rode like a dream in the back. Drivers seat was broke down pretty good by the time my buddy traded some work for it. 429 powered man would it cruise. We got plenty of looks on the way there and on the beach.
  18. Sure is a nice color for that car. Looks very nice.
  19. This snow cool. I like it.
  20. Nice Review. I had no idea they made a new kit until I watched your review. I just thought it was the old Polar Lights kit
