Model Cars Magazine Pens
1930fordpickup replied to sfhess's topic in Model Cars Magazine News and Discussions
If you tip the pen upside down , does the paint come off of the car to leave just a drawing? -
Spent many a night after work helping a good friend work on cars. There were around 4 to 6 pf us that qere there mpst of the time. What ever he had to work on we helped. We also worked on our stuff. I had a 78 Cutlass that we put a 30 over 400 Chevy in to replace the 305 that GM put in it. That was a fun car. After the ringleader divorced his wife we started hanging out at the restoration shop he worked at. He left there and we started to hand out at the Metal mans shop before he passed from Cancer. A nice list of cars went through those places. No i didn't get to drive any of them. Lol Sure seemed like home no mater what shop we were standing in.

Went to the Alexis and Lewis store in Toledo on Sunday. They have the 57 Nomad, 57 Chevy red box art, 56 chevy black car on the box, 64 Mustang convertible, 69 Camaro, 82 Vette, 32 ford roadster Monogram, AMT 32 Ford hot wheels car release and plenty of the Mach5'S and 1/32 scale green hornet. Just a few days ago, they didn't have much left but today they were loaded again. -

South end Toledo store has the 57 Vette, convertible Mustang and the Dan Gurney race car for the latest restock. Not sure what they had earlier this week. -

I count my blessings that I didn’t kill my entire family.

Ron don't beat yourself up over this. taking care of your dad is not easy. You have a lot on your plate. Maybe you just need a check list of things you should have checked out. That old boiler will work fine with a cleaned-up burner. MY dad and I did his one time because the holes were rusted up. He put the boiler in the house in 1963 or 1964 and we did the cleanup in 93 and every couple of years after that until My sister and her husband purchased the house 2 years ago. -

None at the closest store to me. I wouldn't mine a couple of those. -
Thank you for the pictures showing the tips Dennis. This is going to look great when done. Does anyone know of a source for the little deuce grill for these?

1910 horse and buggy picture
1930fordpickup replied to 89AKurt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I love old photos, even better when they have any mode of transportation. The picture of the car looks like it was set up with a tarp behind it. At the very top there seems to be a post for a building. Pictures were not easy or cheap back in the day so it does not surprise me that it would be a still set in a controlled environment, for good results.- 12 replies

The closest Ollies to me (Alexis and Lewis store in Toledo) had the Fairlane, Opel, 32 Ford and the Avanti's. They have not had any newer over stock kits out in a month or so. -
Pay with cash and you don't have this problem. I would think the employee that received the tip quit as soon as they were given a check with the money.

What did you see on the road today?

Stopped at the Local Grocery store and a 28/29 2 door sedan was pulling out. A very nice older restoration. A lady told me it was the Mechanic driving the car to get the bugs worked out for the owner. -
Nail dust collector
1930fordpickup replied to R. Thorne's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Ron you are not wrong with watching out for resin dust. I think the box would be a pain to work around. If feel the dust collector would work better. It looks to be a fan with a filter in front of it. Better than a nothing. If you are handy with wood, you could make something similar to what we have at work. Our benches that we bench molds on have holes in the top that is connected to a dust collector. The dust goes through the holes and out through a tube. Small parts would cause a problem as they might fall it the holes. But for 30 bucks I would try the one you posted. -

Friendly loveable Squirrels..
1930fordpickup replied to A modeler named mike's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I read this up north on my phone and I had a good laugh. I don't post from my phone so I had to wait to get home and get the laundry started. I just spent a day with my brother using another day to clean 60 % of dads shed up north. The shed is 8 by 10 and there was 6 to 8 inches of chewed up pine cones, acorns and black walnut shells on any flat surface. Several nests were found and thankfully no live ones like in the spring when I was tossing a roll of carpet out the door. There are no walnut trees up around his cabin but he had more than enough at home. You see they watched him go in the shed for the walnuts to toss out to feed them along with the ear corn. This place is a four-hour drive so he was not up there every weekend, but the squirrels are smart and figured out where he kept the goods. They just chewed a hole through the sheds wooded door and crawled in. So today we patched the holes in the door up before we left. Just praying they decide to stay out this winter. LOL If you want to have some fun while feeding squirrels, pick up some polished Pecans. The ones you find around Christmas time. Sometimes they have a hard time cracking those open. I still like the little tree rats but as long as they are in the tree's they are good. -
I use McCormick Chili mix. You can get hot or mild. Your taste for that pick. 1 to 3 pounds of beef, Tri blend of beans if making a large batch 1 can or dark, light and black beans. For every pound of beef, I use i can of beans. I blended onion, 1 can of diced and 1 can of puree tomatoes. 2 or 3 Hungarian hot peppers per pound of meat, with seeds and a lot of the membrane removed, but not all. finely chopped or blended along with the onion. A Hotter pepper if you like it hot. TJ have you ever tried chili poured over pasta or flat egg noodles? They call it chili mac here.
